This is a nice, cozy hotel. The Staff is super friendly and always willing to help. The one thing that was a bit bad well not bad but sort of uncomfortable is that there was no heating in the room and it got really chilly in the evening and morning but the comforter was sufficient to stay warm. There is a restaurant (Kolo) on the top floor and the food is super good and the Staff there super friendly.

Fantastic location - very close to Calle Larga (the main road with tons of great food and nightlife) . It's called "old mansion" for a reason - the decorations were well within the theme! Along with this theme, the keys were super old and there was only key per room; we were asked to leave it at the desk if we wanted to have the room cleaned (no big deal though). For extra amenities: the Wifi was reliable and breakfast was included. The staff was always responsive and the rooms were decent though a bit on the smaller end. Overall a good stay!

Near the center of the old town and walkable to most attractions. Older hotel in excellent condition. All rooms open to covered courtyards and have period decor. Hot water takes a few minutes but is plentiful. Hotel also runs the laundry next door for same day service. Breakfast is good and dinners are excellent. There are other dining options nearby as well.

Lovely space. Old school. Nice people. Good breakfast. Great location. Kinda creaky, and noise carries through its open spaces, and the hot water was slow to kick in, but full of character.

Can't beat the location and the people working in the hotel were very accommodating. Considering the price, I don't think one can expect much more but if you want good light and a comfortable bathroom, this hotel is lacking in those areas.

A good location, but a poor hotel. When checking in, no staff member could be found. I called out and looked around for 5 minutes before someone arrived. No record of my reservation seemed to exist and I signed a pad to check in. The room was freezing and the man on the desk loaned me a portable heater. This made it tolerable. The shower was freezing and took 10 minutes to warm up. The bathroom was even colder than the bedroom! The Wi-Fi was atrocious and hardly ever worked. The reception man insisted that I used the room phone, when I wanted to confirm my tour. Every other hotel in Ecuador I stayed in called for me. On Christmas day, my room wasn't cleaned, as there is no spare key when the owner is away. I was given another room, which was slightly better, as the shower warmed up in 5-6 minutes. On the plus side, the breakfast was good. When I checked out, again no staff member could be found, after 5 minutes of looking and calling out, I looked over the desk and saw a pair of feet, this was someone fixing the wires on the computer. He looked around and he finally found the reception staff member, who was working in the laundry next door, that is part of the hotel. The hotel does have a good location and is only a short walk to nightlife and all of the attractions of Cuenca. However, there are many hotels with a similar location, they would be a better option, hopefully.

I have stayed at this hotel several times as it is very convenient to restaurants, bars, cafes, the river, as well as a very short walk to the cathedral and other historical places. It is also a beautiful hotel, the breakfast is very good, the staff is helpful. I plan to stay there in the future as well.

Not even a faucet for hot water in the sink? Checking out was a nightmare. Since their internet was down they couldn't run our credit cards, including the one I made a deposit with. We were delayed with this nonsense for a solid hour and we almost missed our flight. Terrible. They were reasonably nice about it, but what an awful experience it was.

Perfect location close to main cathedrals, restaurants, shopping, etc. Fantastic breakfast with eggs, bacon, fruit, coffee and the best bread we've had in a while. Only minor issue was the rooms were a little bit cold.

It's a nice colonial house at the cuenca's historical center. The building is beautyfull and in excellent conditions. The staff is friendly. I pay 105 for a triple room But what you pay is super overated about what the hotel could offer to you. Cold rooms with cheap blankets. Poor breakfast. No parking. 20" tv with 15 channels. Drunks making noise at 3 am, whose lately was complaining because my Child was playing at 11 am. In my opinion, you could pay extra 5 dollars and stay in the best hotel of town o pay a third or a half and stay in a similar hotel

I spent two great nights at the hotel. The room was charming, comfortable and clean, and the staff was pleasant. The location of the hotel is great! It is only a block or two from some of my favorite restaurants and coffee shops, as well as the river separating the old town from the new. It is also only a few blocks from the main square and the cathedral.
