WARNING! This was not a hotel, it was a sauna. This place doesn't have any air conditioning and when the city is 89 F (32C) degrees outside, like when I stayed there, it's like you're in a sauna sweating non-stop. They say they offer fans to help out - the fans in both my rooms were broken. One had no blades on the fan, one just blatantly didn't work. The building has small windows as well and no airflow so the rooms themselves are even hotter than the outside. Think you can sleep in a 96F (36C) degree room? Think you can sleep while your body is pouring out sweat and you're drenched? It's impossible. Other things that make this place a really bad choice - there's no plugs in the room! Like 1 in the bathroom and 1 in the main room, where the fan is plugged in (if it worked). My bathroom smelled horrible, and I think the smell of the sewers was coming up through the shower drain. I felt really bad for the poor girl working in the lobby (on the 4th floor) - she was absolutely drenched in sweat and red in the face. I had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights at this place and could not possibly stay a 2nd night. I left a day early even though I had already paid for the 2nd night. I'd advise everyone to look elsewhere.

The location was great. That was the best part of the stay. Easily walkable to many attractions. The room had no hooks or pegs anywhere, so it was not convenient to hang clothes or towels. No extra pillows or blankets were available; just 1 skimpy 1/2 duvet and a flatish pillow for each.

There was a big problem with the shower which doesn’t drain properly threatening to overflowand is also very slippery I fell and lightly sprained my wrist. If I had broken something, this would’ve been a huge problem as there is no safety cord and the reception is staffed only during work hours. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she was polite but didn’t seem to be in any hurry to summon a plumber. They do not have rubber bath mats, so I requested an extra cotton mat which I stuck in the shower. This became very filthy and filled with soap after two nights. This is a less than ideal situation. In addition, there is no air-conditioning which is surprising as even cheap hotels have AC nowadays. The temperature in late May reach 28°C. This hotel was certainly overpriced for the amenities. I would definitely stay somewhere else next time.

Great value and location. Ideal for family visits. The room is located in an authentic building within walking distance from the train station (20 min walk). The room could do with having a sink and power supply in the kitchen area and the bathroom needed a towel rail. Overall excellent value for money.

Although the location of the hotel was ideal our room's location within the hotel was less so. We found it difficult to rest and relax as our room was one of three located in reception. We we're frequently disturbed by guests checking in and out as well as the slamming of the lobby door as people entered and left the premises. Further, our experience was hampered by a broken shower in our room. When we alerted staff to the issue we were met with indifference and a suggestion of how we might fix the shower ourselves. Though one might expect fewer amenities at a budget friendly hotel Galeria River is not that budget friendly and a working shower isn't a high-end amenity. TLDR: great location, mediocre rooms, poor service

Historic building and right in front of the river is a big bonus. Many nice restaurants are within 5 minutes walk.

It's located right on the river, with many restaurants nearby. Very scenic area. The castle and a cathedral were visible from my room. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The young woman in reception walked outside with me to show me where I would be picked up for my trip to the airport.

The place is great. However, be aware that parking is very difficult and can get a bit pricey and a ways away from the hotel. Also it’s a 4th floor walk-up in case you’re physically challenged.

Pros: great location. Affordable, small but nice room w en-suite great recommendations on restaurants and activities. Shower had great pressure and was nice Cons: this is partially my fault and Mother Nature as it was 90+ degrees F and I figured it wouldn’t be an issue in a 200 year old building. I’d love to stay there again in any season but summer as there’s no air. You are provided with an 8 inch fan. I had a dilemma as my room faced the river(a great view was another pro) but if I closed the windows it would be unbearable and if I left them open-which I had to-I’d be swarmed with bugs-which I was. I ended up putting the fan next to me and slept on top of the covers with the bugs. They landed on me all night as there’s a lamp light directly to the right of my window when you look out. The sheets weren’t changed in 4 days I was there but I didn’t go to the front desk to complain as I was on tours each day and it didn’t open until 10 and was closed by the time I got back. It was one of the most uncomfortable stays I’ve had in Europe yet I want to make clear that I’d stay there in cooler weather. Maybe the listing should make it clear that due to no air it’s a hard stay so be prepared.

We enjoyed staying here. It was close to everywhere we wanted to go in the city. Staff was friendly. The only drawback was no air conditioning, but we knew this when we booked. We did open a window for a bit, but it was too nosey to leave open. Overall we enjoyed our stay!
