It's a good and cheap place to stay.

murmer, sometimes lots of guests, sometimes quiet.

I was showering when I heard the phone rang at 9.10am. Rushed out all wet and naked to answer the call from the restaurant staff informing me that breakfast would be available until 10am. This was on the fifth day of my stay (9 Nov-15 Nov, 2025) in Sonaview Hotel and it was also the FIRST time in my countless hotel stays of my overseas trips that I got a call informing me of the closing time for breakfast. And also, on the morning of check out, I requested for hotel transport to the jetty to be on standby. But the female staff on duty at the front desk failed to heed the urgency of my request (as I did not want to miss my ferry) and just told me to be patient. As for the room, the bed linens are dirty and smelly (which were not changed once during my 6-day stay). The same went for the foot towel outside the bathroom. In addition, the bath towels (though changed daily) had holes in them and looked like they were not properly washed.

The hotel staff was very friendly. The food was delicious, and the rooms were nice and clean.

Cleanliness has been improved again and corridor lights can be turned on.

Overall it's okay, friendly service. The breakfast menu is quite varied, please scrub the bathroom because it's a bit slippery. Thanks.

It's just so-so. The staff is not very friendly but it's quite comfortable to stay here. From inside the room you can hear the noise outside. The bathroom is slippery, a bit afraid that parents will slip. Fortunately, there is a rooftop cafe which is a plus point, you can see the view of Dumai city from above👍🏻

The hotel staff is quite friendly, the room is clean & nice, the view is cool from above, and of course it is close to the city center. It's just that I haven't had time to tour the room around the hotel because there are many activities

I lost my ring and cash while staying on November 12, 2024, until now there has been no clarity from the hotel regarding the continuation of the Housekipping in question, whether it will be followed up or not.

Warm, friendly and hospitable staff. Good location as within walking distance to city centre. However, breakfast selections should be expanded to include omelette dishes (or upon request). Rice was wet (almost like half-cooked porridge, not sure whether it was meant to be eaten this way). Room (311) was near lifts, which made sleep difficult as they made loud sounds to allow guests to enter/exit.

Unfriendly and arrogant service, the room ordered for a double bed was provided with a single bed.

Always stay here when in Dumai, it's really a winner. The biggest complaint is that the Wifi is really slow and if I may suggest a red and white flag, please replace it with a new one, the one I'm using is really worn out.

The male reception staff is not friendly, the breakfast is delicious, the bathroom is not shiny enough, there is a lot of dust under the bed, overall okay.
