Quite ? I can’t relate to it at all, horrible noise pollution from other “guests “. And it started well, the owner (?) greeted me in front, had a secure space for my bike too. Then it quickly deteriorated, the double room I booked ( & paid ) were given to a group , sorry for that, you get some complimentary breakfast ok ? Hm, ah , and there are a lot of kids so it might be lively, you are ok with that right ? No, not what I booked , not what I was looking for. Room, small and cramped, tilted roof, toilet in the hall. Turned into a zoo, screaming and shouting, running and door banging until after 23:00 🕚! Unbelievable Can’t recommend !

I love this place. I recommend you to bring ear plugs or noise canceling earphone, if you are not familiar with Japanese traditional wooden houses which has stucco walls primarily for humidity control, and has thin wooden or paper door. It is also popular and traditional to wash the bathtub when you feel it is not clean. This place offers you a traditional Japanese staying style with some sharing mind. The place is very quiet partly because this house is next to a temple, which has owned this house decades ago. The breakfasts are wonderful. When you encounter a situation where someone staying at the same house uses the bath room, I also recommends you to order a glass of Sake and spend at the bar counter for a while.

No WiFi. (telling your guests to use crappy free public wifi doesn't count!) Tiny, light towel. No fan or ventilation (AC unit has no fan function, either, and keeps turning off. Very stuffy air. Coffee was 100 yen extra. Very low quality ryokan

Wonderful ryokan. 180 year old house completely renovated. Every room was clean and charming. We highly recommend anyone interested in staying in a traditional Japanese house stay here.
