We loved the hotel, designer decor, location and corner room! I did request ahead of time for a room not on the front side of the hotel. I read revues that said it is noisy with church bells and bar hoppers all night, but despite that , we were given a front facing room . We still slept with our windows open every night. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it!

Probably one of the nicest hotel experiences I have had. They give you a voucher for a free drink at the bar as a gift for staying with them which I think is nice. Staff is excellent and so kind. Lady in the front desk told us things to do around Basel and was overall very helpful. Room was fantastic and comfy. Very chic. Ironing room in the second floor is pretty decent. The only thing is the lighting is darkish so you can’t really assess if you did a good ironing job haha. There’s water/sparkling water/coffee/apples/tea free to take in each floor which is very convenient. Literally in front of the tran so its easy to get around the Basel area from there. Very close to the rhine/conference center/stores, etc. There’s also a starbucks next to it which is pretty neat if you want to stick to something basics. The room was very tidy and honestly the experience was a 20/10.

Such a beautiful hotel with large rooms and gorgeous bathrooms! The breakfast was delicious and generous. My 10 year old daughter had her own tent in our room and she said it was the best place we stayed in all of Switzerland! Staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Would love to stay here again!

Great location and friendly staff. The room was quiet and comfortable. The front desk loaned us an adapter so that we could charge our devices too. Overall a fantastic stay.

The room was lovely with a large bathroom and a basket of helpful notions that made our stay particularly enjoyable. The bar and restaurant were both excellent and the breakfast was particularly tasty.

We really enjoyed our stay at Volkhaus! Two Americans traveling to Switzerland, and we were very pleased with our room, the customer service, and location. Our room was large with plenty of space, but simple and easy. The beds were comfortable as well! We were close to everything we were looking for as well. Highly recommend!

No parking

The staff member who greeted us at 8:20 in the morning was very helpful. She provided us with maps and Basel visitors passes as well as offered to hold our luggage until our room was ready. Everyone was very helpful and friendly towards us.

Ein tolles Hotel in Gehdistanz zu allen Möglichkeiten, mit moderner Einrichtung. Die Baselcard ist super und die Bags um sich im Rhein treiben zu lassen sind genial. Zuerst waren wir etwas erstaunt über den Preis des Frühstücks, doch es war sehr reichhaltig und ausserordentlich vielseitig. Es hat sich gelohnt. Werden es wieder besuchen.
