Staff are incredible. Service and rooms are incredible as always. What surprised me was the parking cost. I stayed 2 nights, and self-parking at the connected underground parking garage cost $157. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels over the years across Canada and the US and nowhere has parking been close to as expensive as it was in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hard to make sense of that.

The room was lovely with a great view. Loved the bathroom and it’s great amenities and comfy robe. It’s definitely an uphill walk from the harbour to the Hotel after sightseeing. Our Noon check out was memorable as the cannon blasted from Citadel Hill and we were so close we could see the smoke! The mini bar was a real pain. If you touch or move something there is a sensor and you will be charged. I was looking for a Diet Pepsi or a Coke Zero as it was late and we couldn’t find a small shop in the hotel to buy one. Had I not mentioned at the desk at check out about moving items I would have been charged.That sensored mini fridge was a real annoyance. I’m positive I’m not the only guest who feels this way. If I made decisions for the Sutton Place Hotel I’d remove that fridge fast and replace it with a mini bar of the past.

Clean room, friendly staff, very good service. There was noice either from roof or the wall where the service cart was parked until midnight and started again in the morning. I had asked for a quite room.

I did not appreciate seeing mice in the lobby/bar area of this establishment. While they said it was routine and they have rodent traps in place, it did not make me feel comfortable. Especially in the eating area. Plus our room did not get attended to. We had to ask for the garbage to be emptied and the coffee t be refilled. Other than that rooms were comfortable, love that they have fuzzy bathrobes in all rooms, Queen suite was very luxurious. And the hotel staff were okay.

Room was clean, staff were great. Bed seemed a little small.

The rooms are nice, however their restaurant, and room service are bad. They have an online ordering system, only problem is they don’t read the orders. I order twice from Chopped, and realized it didn’t matter what I ordered they would just give me whatever. Received room service with no cutlery, and the food orders were all wrong. Very disappointing stay. They also reach out to you prior to your stay to note of inconveniences, like not being able to park your studded tires in their parking lot. Pretty inconvenient stay. Would choose another hotel in Halifax every time.
