On the surface the hotel is lovely, bright and airy. The room was very nice, clean and well designed.
Went for a bite to eat in the restaurant area. Had a burger and my partner had pie and chips. (Very limited choice). I am by no means a snob when it comes to food but thought over £40 was a bit steep for the dry burger and heated up pie. They had, it turned out run out of the extra sides we ordered. Asked us to choose another from the 3 sides on offer, which already came with the meal so didn’t really want to double up. Had already paid so said it was fine, can we just have a refund for the side, which was not offered as an option. Was told they would have to check if they could with the manager
And so to bed! I thought I could literally sleep on a floor - and that’s unfortunately how it felt. The bed was hard to the point of having to lay the soggy pillows on the mattress to make the bed at least a little bit comfortable. There were no spare pillows so ended up using the cushions from the sofa.
Breakfast was included and was nice. Good choice and nicely cooked.
All in all not a bad stay - they just need to sort the beds out :-)
