The elevators in this 13-floor hotel are unreliable. The hotel only has 3 available for guest use, 2 of which were working when we checked in, and just a few hours later only 1 was working. They are small and don’t hold a lot of people (or their luggage). We found ourselves stuck on the 8th floor many times as the elevators kept passing by us to go to the top floor, or when one finally opened on our floor, it was packed. Check in was somewhat slow which was to be expected, but check out was a disaster. Only one person working the desk at 11AM on a Sunday, and yes you had to physically check out. I cannot recommend this hotel at all. The manager did not prepare their staff or property for large waves of people and did not staff the front desk to its capacity.

Ridiculous parking fee (50!)

I will try to keep this short. We booked a stay for the week we the expected medical procedure for my wife. MD Anderson said the week before has an opening for procedure (2 days notice). We have a preferred hotel when here that's closer to MDA which had a few nights available but not the first night there. Stayed at Blossom on night 1 and the stay was fine. Our preferred place had the night after discharge available so we took it. Then the following night (tonight opened up) so we took that as well. Fortunately my wife has recovered so well we are heading home tomorrow. Meanwhile, 48 hours before booked stay at blossom I changed the booking once we knew another night opened up. This change switched the reservation to non-refundable. 24+ hours before I try to cancel the stay in hopes to stay at our preferred hotel the entire time and not have my wife relocate after major surgery. Called 2x that afternoon and both times after a brief conversation, I was hung up on. I go through the messaging service on Expedia and management doesn't follow up within 24 hours. After about 36 hours they respond saying they cannot provide a refund and apologize for any inconvenience. I have been charged for 3 nights without staying here. Being 1/2 mile from MDA, I would hope for more compassion and some degree of refund given the fluidity of our situation. Was hoping this would be a good alternative if we weren't able to book our normal place. Doubt it now.

Very disappointed with our stay. We were in town for a concert. Hotel was fully booked and only two elevators were working. Came back to room after concert and key would not work. Received new keys, came back to room and still would not work. Rooftop restaurant and bar was out of service during our stay since their system was down. We asked for our room to be cleaned on Saturday but came back to find our room had not been cleaned. Phone was not working so not able to call concierge or order room service. Hotel is 15-20 minutes from pretty much anything. No restaurants that are close by. Rooms were nice and hotel is clean but we were disappointed with not being able to enjoy many of the amenities offered. Also, if you are booking for proximity to NRG Stadium, be prepared to walk two miles to get there or to Uber.

Melvin made the check in process easy. He allowed us to check in early and waived the fee.

We really enjoyed our stay

Every thing was great from speaking to front desk before our arrival for late check in and comfortable bed and pillows (I’m usually really disappointed in hotel pillows but not here). Two cons only: you have to valet park for $50. There is no other option or street parking. While this is a very nice hotel, $8 for a beer and $18 for a lemon drop martini is quite over priced.
