Very cool property with friendly staff and an excellent and atmospheric bar/restaurant. Walking distance to other restaurants as well. Loved hearing how the building was saved from the wrecking ball by the current owners. We stayed in the handicapped accessible room which had a shower that was open to the bathroom, so a big soggy but otherwise comfortable!

Great option for this location. A bit out of the downtown core, but I was not going into downtown. Short walk to Eden Park and highway access. Very interesting building given it was a convent in a previous life. Staff were very nice, polite, and helpful. I had a great stay there.

Absolutely amazing hotel with wonderful staff. The room we stayed in was gorgeous with plenty of amenities to keep us feeling like we’ve been looked after. The hotel itself is so lovely and clearly a lot of love and attention was given to restoring this old convent. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Auckland.

Unique boutique hotel. Very easy to find. Super helpful and friendly staff who got us checked in early. Lovely attached restaurant. If parking there, slim entry to parking lot - be mindful of mirrors

Great situation outside of CBD. Loved the on site parking and history of the building. Stunning restoration. Very quiet. Next time I would book a larger room than the Petite Queen.

The room description indicates it has a microwave but it did not. This kind of information is helpful for travellers when planning their trip and should be clarified. The hotel is nicely renovated with clean spartan rooms that display the buildings history. The attached restaurant is exceptionally good

This a stylish hotel. It is, indeed, a former convent. It was empty for some years, after which it was renovated and turned into a hotel. The decor plays with Christian themed art a bit. I liked it a lot, but it might not be for everyone. The rooms were spotless, the staff was friendly. The hotel hosts an outstanding restaurant, which is a separate business from the hotel itself. The area around the hotel, is not touristy. There is a bunch of car dealerships and other non-touristy stores around. The restaurants and cafes are about 20 minutes walk away.

Unfortunately the first hiccup was I had to go and ask for towels as not a single one had we been given. The room is decorated with a view to the ex convent that it is. So the bedside tables are very basic rusty things. One wall is decorated as though it were a poor nun's with deliberate peeled paint. We were in room four which has a wet room for the bathroom so consequently the whole floor gets wet. The worst thing though was the room was far too hot with no means of regulating it. We didn't eat here They don't do breakfast.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. The design of this hotel is gorgeous and the rooms and common areas are decorated very nicely. I stayed one night in the smallest room offered and found the bed and bathroom comfortable. A few small adjustments would make the space a little easier to navigate - for example, I had to unplug one of the side lamps and put it in the wardrobe so that I was able to move out the nightstand to plug in my cell phone. There was a large decorative pillow, but no place to put it when the bed was in use, other than the floor. I was surprised that the bathroom lacked tissues and would have appreciated more hooks to hang towels in or near the shower.

The Convent Hotel is a lovely place to stay while visiting Auckland. It is away from the hassle and bustle of downtown, yet convenient. The only downside is that it is not in the sexiest part of Auckland. You need to take an Uber or taxi to get to some of the more fashionable neighborhoods.
