We stayed at The Elopura Hotel twice during our Sandakan trip—once before our Kinabatangan tour and again after returning. On our first stay, we were given a room on the 2nd floor, which had a noticeable musty smell. On our return, we stayed on the 4th floor, and the room was fresh with no odor at all. Based on our experience, the higher floors seem to be a better choice. The hotel’s biggest advantage is its excellent location. It’s directly opposite Harbour Mall and within walking distance of the waterfront, Central Market, cafés, and many local shops. It’s a very convenient base for exploring Sandakan town. One thing to note is that if you’re specifically looking for Chinese seafood, most of the highly recommended restaurants are in Bandar Utama IJM, about a 10–15 minute Grab ride away. There aren’t many outstanding seafood restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. I also appreciated that the hotel provides a secure luggage storage room on the ground floor, which was very convenient before check-in and after check-out while we were waiting for our transport. The breakfast is basic but adequate. There is enough to start the day, though don’t expect a wide selection. Overall, I would stay here again because of its strategic location, and good value for money.

Stayed here for a work trip for 3 days and 2 nights. First, we got a room on a lower floor that smelled like mold, and there was mold in the toilet and outside the room. It was directly in front of the lift even though we’ve specifically asked for a room far from the lift. Was about to accept the room with the smell because the view was alright (the smell is something like wet clothes that have been kept in a closed space for a long time). However, the sound of the lift and all that was a bit too much as I am a light sleeper. We asked to change rooms and got a lower floor. View was okay, at least no smell. The first day, there was no tissue. There were also multiple stains on the bedsheet. Again, at least no smell 😷 and far from the lift. The first night was horrifying because the doors have an alarm sound or something if left open too long. The whole night from 3 AM to 6:30 AM, the alarm went off in one of the rooms or more. Totally couldn’t sleep. Called the reception, nobody picked up. By 5 AM, decided to call another number found online using my own phone and was told they will look into it. The alarm went off until 8 AM. The soundproofing is non-existent. Like, seriously. The pros though are that the people are friendly and it’s super near to the harbour. Fantastic location. The breakfast is so-so.

Best everything everything is ok best. Hotel. Beautiful.. Many advantages...

Overall is OK for everything. The only thing is the hotel doesn't provide any parking for travelers 😣.

Satisfied! Clean & comfortable. Only the air conditioner is leaking. The staff are all okay, I just want to comment, the front counter staff / receptionist has a friendly face.

Lokasi di depan Harbour Mall. Ada KFC dan McD. Di Harbour bisa beli baju, ada swalayan, lantai. 4 ada food court. Pilihan banyak, nasi lemak, sate. Ada 7-Eleven. Dekorasi penuh dengan memorabilia sinema dan rock. Tempat tidur nyaman, selimut kering, dan bersih. Lain dari itu, silakan menginap dan coba sendiri.

Think need to works on pest problems. Housekeeper needs to attend training on PR matters. We politely address her as ' Miss '. She just simply call us makcik & unbelievably rude. However receptionists were very helpful & kind. Kudos to the front desk team.

Front desk excellent. Room got cockroach, centipede, & ants. Housekeeper forgot to place new towels after she took the used ones. No plastic garbage.

The condition of the hotel is very satisfactory in accordance with the price offer. The beautiful surroundings are well worth a stay at this hotel.
