Great location

We stayed for 5 nights and it was fantastic. Big thanks to Samuel at the front desk for making it extra special. Room was extremely comfortable - shower and bathroom super clean. Spa was nice during the cold of the winter. Included breakfast was very good but could have used a little bit more variety. Service was solid - whenever we ordered anything, it arrived minutes later. And location is unbeatable - walking distance to everything and trains readily available a block away.

Noise AF. Didn’t sleep a second. The windows are right next to tram tracks and the trains run 24/7 every 5 minutes all night long. Zero soundproofing in windows.

We were so happy with our stay at this beautiful hotel in the heart of Basel's Old Town. It was within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to do, had very welcoming and helpful staff, and was so comfortable. I will definitely plan to stay here again on our next trip to the city.

Friendly staff

If you are visiting Basel the Marthof is the perfect choice. Charm, location, clean, spacious rooms. Close to everything and most tours start from here in the area for convenience or a short 10 min walk. Restaurants galore from all varieties and cultures. The staff is excellent. The breakfast is buffet wonderful. I promise you will love it!

the hotel is immaculate, the staff are friendly and efficient, the location is superb and the Bohemia cafe is a buzzy place during the day and evenings.

Very modern, clean room. We had a lower room so the tram ran by regularly but not too loud. Staff was helpful and the bar had excellent drinks before dinner

This hotel is exceptional! I really loved my stay here. Our room was really clean and big. The location is conveniently located in the heart of the city. We were able to just walk to to the Christmas market locations in Münsterplatz and Barfusserplatz. The hotel staffs were really nice and very helpful. There is also a very good restaurant on the first level called Bohemia. I would definitely recommend this place.
