Positives - Literally a 4 minute walk to Gare du Nord with suitcases - excellent.
Family room was great layout, with 3 separate areas for the beds
Lovely old building
Negatives - I emailed hotel a week before visit to check if breakfast included - no reply
On arrival, advised not included. Advised cost was 12 euros per adult and
6 euros per child. Asked if I had to book in advance and told we could just
decide in the morning. Next morning, different member of staff ( who was
however there as we'd been given the previous advice) wanted to charge 12
Euros each and insisted there was no difference for children. Advised
breakfast rate was lowest if we'd booked before we arrived, higher at
check-in then higher again if booked on the morning. We left and had
breakfast in a cafe a few doors away for 7 euros each in the sunshine.
Hotel stairwells were being renovated and will be lovely when finished. No
advance warning. Not great trying to get up down an old winding staircase
with 2 kids and suitcases whilst a trestle in the way without touching newly
painted walls ( yes, there was a lift, but not for the last bit which was being
decorated). Disappointing.
