This hotel has been one of the best we’re I’ve stayed. The people and their service was excellent, everyone was so kind and attentive and really gives that extra mile. The facilities were amazing, the food was out of this world. I will definitely come back and it’s 100% recommended

La unico que no me gusto fie el servicio en el restaurante Casa Blanca, en el desayuno a los meseros hay que pedirles las bebidas de lo contrario no van a tu mesa , almorce mi ultimo dia en Casa Blanca y igual se demoraron dos horas y media en llevar una pizza y un salmon , perdi hasta mi zita en el spa , por la demora de ellos . Me encanto mi abitacion , nos quedamos en un family suite con Jacuzzi , abitacion 814. Volver is a Sofitel pero no a Casa Blanca lo malo es Que el desayuno es en ese restaurante .

I’m in love with this hotel. I had the most peaceful experience I have ever experienced in a resort. Staff is so nice and friendly they approach you here and there which is great to ask if you need any drinks or any food. I loved the private beach and the pools are so beautiful. The spa is one of the best treatments you can get while you’re staying here. I will come back to this wonderful hotel with my family. This time I only came with my husband and we had such a great time. The restaurants are great as well. Room service is one of the great things they have if you don’t feel like going out to the restaurants. While at the beach they have kayaking which is included in your stay and there are also other activities like snorkeling ect that you can pay separately. Sofitel Calablanca I will see you soon.

Overalll the property was beautiful and very clean. I wish they had more food options though. If you go I do not recommend the huong restaurant it wasn’t appetizing. But besides the food I loved it.

Just a short ride away from Cartagena, this hotel is in a premium location in Barú. The hotel staff was excellent and food was great. The facilities are superb. A great place to visit and relax.

An absolute paradise! Vary clean and friendly with amazing service and top notch food and drinks.

Beautiful property beach pools food drinks service !!! Excellent!!!

Sofitel is very beautiful and likely the nicest resort in Cartagena. However, I learned while there that beaches in Colombia are never actually private, despite their beach being blatantly advertised as a “private beach”. Within minutes of arriving, my partner and I were approached by multiple panhandlers hawking “artisan goods” and selling massages. The masseuse did not want to take a firm “no thank you” as an answer, and began rubbing my foot without consent. The hotel was responsive when I complained and spoke to the panhandling locals about toning it down, which they did. I was able to enjoy the rest of my say without harassment. But as the beach is not actually a private beach, they stayed around and frequently approached other hotel guests. I think it is important to be aware of this situation before booking this hotel.

The entire staff was fabulous and it is unfortunate that I do not remember all of their names, despite the fact that everyone of them knew my name. A special thank you to Maria at the adult pool. He and his team were very attentive to our needs and made us feel as though we had the pool all to ourselves. Also, all of the drivers provided exceptional service as did the breakfast staff. The concierge’s were always on top of everything providing a worry-free experience, we thank them all. Hotel Sofitel Baru is a hidden gem that we definitely plan to return!

I just returned from an amazing vacation here in Colombia, and I have to say—it was truly a five-star experience from start to finish! The hotel was absolutely beautiful, exactly as pictured, and exceptionally clean and well-maintained. A special shoutout to Mario, who went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. His attentiveness and hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable. Honestly, every staff member we encountered was kind, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed. This is the perfect getaway spot—whether you’re traveling as a couple or with family, the experience is nothing short of incredible. I can’t recommend it enough, and I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Excellent service and ammenities. I would suggest more dining options as well as more seafood.

It’s paradise. However, getting there is difficult. The roads that take you there are horrendous. It’s a long bumpy ride. It’s about 90 minutes by cab. Going by boat it’s very expensive and there are only two trips per day.
