Beautiful location with stunning garden. Very helpful and friendly staff. Impeccable with stunning decor. We will always remember our trip to the Abbaye de Villeneuve. It has been a highlight of our trip to France.

The property and facilities are amazing (beautiful, confortable and clean). One of the most beautiful hotel I stayed in. However, I think the staff is not very experienced (or understaffed). I was at the patio by myseld during the afternoon and the waitress never came to me (but she did served other tables around) so I had to go to the bar to order my glass of wine. This is very disappointing. Also, there was a miscommunication between the day and night staff at the lobby so they tried to charge the night twice at the Check out. Fortunately enough I had my receipt and bank transaction…

Georgeous property. From the time we arrived we were treated like royalty. This property is truly a diamond in the rough. Could not give a higher recommendation. Stunning venue!

A perfect location and splendid property. However the food in the restaurant and also the breakfast is ridiculously over-priced for what you get. Worth staying here but eat elsewhere.

The hotel itself is a beautiful old historic building and looks very impressive from the outside. Inside is like a stone cloister with high ceilings - it used to be some kind of monastery, and still has that general feel. My room was on the 2nd floor and there was no lift - I'm fairly young and fit, so it wasn't a problem for me but this could be difficult for older people, disabled people or those with heavy luggage. My room was quite dark, with heavy wood beams in the ceiling and just one small window - and although it had character, it felt rather gloomy. The bathroom was clean but old-fashioned. My biggest issue was the lack of good, reliable Wifi in the rooms - as I was on a business trip and Wifi was essential then I ended up having to go to a local shopping centre to do any work on my laptop. The hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere, 15 minutes from Nantes airport and with very limited facilities in the vicinity. There is ample parking at the front of the building - although the road to access the hotel is little more than a dirt track with large potholes everywhere and really needs resurfacing. I appreciate that is probably the responsibility of the local council rather than the hotel itself though. The reception desk is open during limited hours - if you want to check out before 7.00am then you need to advise them in advance and pay your bill the night before (although this was not explained to me when I checked in)

It's a pretty chateau, in the middle of no where, which was great to begin our Loire valley visit. However, NO WIFI ANYWHERE was really frustrating! Obviously, they need to have Internet access available to clients; they didn't even have a connected computer for guest use.

The hotel is run very well and all the staff come across as very professional. Unfortunately they do not have the comfiest of beds and the foam pillows were of a very poor standard. I had to complain and was told they would fix things only to find 6 hours later nothing had been done. So I ended up checking out at 6pm to find a good nights sleep at another hotel. It was a shame as it seemed to have everything else I was looking for!:(

This is a former monastery and has retained all of the character. The food is Michelin star quality served with equivalent service.

Excellent food, service and location. The hotel is long overdue a refurbishment. The rooms are cramped and very hot in summer and require air conditioning. Too many electrical extension leads in room, which did concern me about safety. TV requires some English speaking news channels.

This is an old hotel in need of upgrading. Food at restaurant was terrible. Not in a great location. Grounds overgrown with weeds. We are not picky. Have stayed in treehouse hotel. But; we do not recommend this hotel.
