I didn’t plan to stay in Weiden at all. My original plan was Vienna — until NILS appeared on my booking screen. One look at this hotel, and everything changed. I canceled Vienna without hesitation and dedicated my entire time in Austria to this magical place on the lake. And it was the best decision I could have made for my soul.
After two difficult years of war back home, my heart and mind were exhausted. NILS felt like a soft hand reaching out and saying, “come rest here.”
I traveled all the way from Budapest - two trains, two buses, delays, cold weather, darkness - but the moment I arrived, it was all worth it. I was welcomed with a warm smile and a glass of local Prosecco, which felt incredibly comforting after such a long journey.
The design of the hotel is breathtaking: chic, boho, earthy, natural, perfectly curated down to the smallest detail. My room was cozy and beautiful, and every corner looked like it belonged in magazine. The atmosphere is peaceful — complete silence, soft light, and that dreamy lakeside energy.
I woke up to a golden sunrise over the lake… pure magic.
Breakfast was one of the healthiest and most mindful I’ve had in my travels — fresh fruits, nuts, seeds, vegetables, delicious breads, homemade jams, an impressive selection of juices, wellness shots, plant-based milk… As someone who lives a healthy lifestyle and loves vegan food, I was truly happy (though vegan cheese or tofu would be a great addition in the future!).
The spa is small but perfect: a warm sauna, a relaxation room, herbal teas, fruit-infused water, and a balcony where you can step out into the cold after the heat — incredibly refreshing for body and mind.
There’s also a heated pool, which is a complete blessing in winter.
The staff were wonderful — warm, kind, genuinely interested, and easy to talk to. As a solo traveler, these small human connections mean a lot. We shared travel stories, smiles, and small conversations that made everything feel even more personal.
In the evening, the sunset over the lake was hypnotizing. Just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, and you’re standing by the water watching the sky paint itself.
When I had to leave, the hotel arranged a lovely driver who arrived early, was kind, friendly, and got me safely to Vienna Airport.
This hotel healed something inside me.
This is not just a place to stay — it’s a place to breathe again.
I would return again and again, even if it means taking two trains and two buses.
And honestly… I would love to collaborate with this hotel in the future. As a model and someone who lives the lifestyle this hotel represents — healthy, mindful, aesthetic, nature-loving — I feel deeply connected to what NILS stands for. It would be an honor to be part of its story.
Thank you NILS, for giving my soul exactly what it needed.
I can’t wait to come back.
