This was an extremely unpleasant place to stay. The rooms had a stale, lingering smell, and the bathroom reeked of sewage. The outdoor pool was out of service with no explanation, and it looked like it had been that way for quite some time. The indoor pool was poorly lit to the point where it was difficult to even find your way around, everything felt dark and neglected. Hot water would cut out for long periods, and the heater in the room made constant, disruptive noise. Requests for assistance were ignored, with staff rarely showing up when needed. Breakfast was shockingly inadequate, portions were minimal (at one point, just a couple of kiwi slices shared among many guests), and there was no variety to speak of. Overall, the experience was dreadful. I felt uncomfortable and uneasy throughout my stay and was simply counting down the time until I could leave. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My stay at Montenegro Lodge wasn’t without its challenges, albeit very minor ones. On the first day we discovered that the door didn’t lock, so we had limited security. The internet was intermittent at times, and the hot water was not sufficient to fill and use the hot tub. However, where this property fell short, the staff were there to pick things up. I cannot commend them highly enough for their hospitality and kindness throughout our stay. The hotel is missing a few things before it can truly be recognised as five‑star. The true stars of the show are the staff. Thank you all for being so its challenges, albeit very minor ones. On the first day we discovered that the door didn’t lock, so we had limited security. Our experience at this property was unfortunately far below expectations, and I’ll be seeking reimbursement due to multiple issues throughout our stay. By Day 2, we had no Wi-Fi, no lighting on the stairway, and the elevators were completely out of order, creating major health and safety concerns. I booked the Penthouse Suite specifically for the jacuzzi, yet the boiler system failed — only two minutes of hot water followed by ten minutes of cold. Completely unacceptable for a premium room. The keycard system constantly malfunctioned — sometimes it worked, other times it wouldn’t register at all. The breakfast was always served cold, and the restaurant dinner was inedible. We ordered chicken which was undercooked and unsafe to eat. When I raised this with the waitress, she insisted it was “cooked that way” and refused to even check it herself, as well as denying a refund. This stay was extremely disappointing and not reflective of the standard the hotel advertises. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and provides an appropriate resolution.

I highly recommend for anyone going to stay here! Besides the transport being difficult the hotel had helped with getting us a taxi accommodated. I can’t thank furkan enough as the prices were fair compared to the prices the main city taxis are. The staff in the hotel were lovely and made the experience a lot easier! Definitely worth the visit!

Staff was very unprofessional, and not helpful. This is for front desk employees only. So disappointing.

The hotel is highly overrated. It looks much better on the photos then in live. The service is poor. I tried to contact the hotel few days before our arrival, nobody answered the phone, they didn't respond to mail or whatsup message. The rooms are spacious but could be cleaner. The breakfast is poor and the pool seems a little bit dirty. Also, some of the hotel areas are still under construction. The road that leads to the hotel is very narrow and you should be very careful, especially with big car.

I had really mixed feelings about my stay and was very worried leading up to the trip based on the reviews I was starting to see come through. As far as location, while it was annoying to be reliant on a taxi I did like that it was a bit of an escape from the touristy and high traffic old town and enjoyed having a pool to come back to each day, if you want to be able to walk to dinner and be close to old town this hotel is not for you. The food was very mediocre and I didn’t even touch breakfast as it didn’t look very good. Staff was nice, not overly friendly but not rude. Room was very spacious and clean.

I normally never provide reviews but honestly this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The staff was dismissive and rude - I am not sure if it was because I am a young female traveller and the guests were families or couples, but everyone else seemed to take priority over me. When it was time to check-in I was given room keys with no information on the amenities, how to contact reception, where to make dinner reservations, etc. The only reason I figured it out was because I overheard this information being shared with others checking in at the same time. The room was thrown together and half of the in room amenities were broken. The bed was uncomfortable and didn't have any sheets on the mattress. The cherry on top... I heard crickets in my room during the night. The next morning I brought some of my breakfast to my room so I could eat it later, when I tried to eat it I was greeted by 50+ ants crawling all over the food and counters. It was disgusting. Also their website claims to have room service but it did not exist when I tried to order (which by the way I needed to contact their main telephone number on WhatsApp because their phones didn't have a call sheet for hotel amenities) and their "taxi service" is 15 euros but I seemed to be charged 25 every time. Overall I am glad I only stayed one night but I regret it. I think Kotor is better off done as a day trip from a near by country and I wouldn't recommend it to people travelling from outside of Europe.

The hotel is placed in a village with nothing around. The hotel is beautiful with two large pools. The view is amazing. The maintenance in the hotel is poor.

Looks like a nice hotel but issues beneath surface. Booked the deluxe room for the jacuzzi which was a mistake...the hot water system was poor... Struggled to provide enough hot water for 2 adults to shower let alone fill a jacuzzi. Restaurant was also not great... Half the menu not available and breakfast was a bit hit and miss.

I enjoyed my 4 night stay at this quiet and peaceful hotel. The staff was always willing to help and made us feel safe. They serve breakfast every morning and the view is beautiful. The rooms are great and spacious. I enjoyed Montenegro and their people. So many great cultures. The hotel is in Kotor which is an excellent mid point to a lot of the tourist locations. Thank you for giving us a great stay.

Do not recommend at all. The staff are useless and inexperienced. We asked for a hair dryer on Monday and got it Thursday. They refused to give us an omelette for breakfast because they said they don’t make them, however we saw other people being given one. We also ordered 3 bottles of wine throughout the week, the waiter said they are €12 each. When we checked out, the receptionist said €20 per bottle because the prices had updated the day of checkout. We refused to pay the extra. We had to wait 2 days for toilet roll. It’s a shambles to be honest, overpriced for what you get. The rooms are nice but that’s it. They told us the chef walked out 2 days ago so there’s no dining or restaurant. This wasn’t ideal. Honestly want a refund to be honest.

This is a new hotel about 10 minutes drive from kotor bay. The hotel is exavtly as the pics. Warm recrption, friendly and helpful. Very close to Tiv airport and booking comes with free airport transfers to TIV. I had the penthouse and it was really nice with the Jacuzzi. Breaskfast was 5/10. Can be better but service was really good. Please change the coffee too bitter. I will definitely stay here again.

Having read the negative reviews, and after major noise problems at our previous hotel we booked last minute 8 days in the penthouse, room 61. We already had a hire car and chose this hotel because it was out of the way and we hoped it would be quiet. On arrival the young lad at reception was pleasant and showed us to our room. Our room appeared dated and smaller then we had expected. The toilet seat was hanging off, as was the skirting throughout the room. The parasole on balcony was broken and the jacuzzi had leaked a massive puddle over a third of the balcony. The young lad had the parasole and toilet fixed immediately and said as he was only actually the driver, he would put in a request with maintenance to fix the jacuzzi. The view from balcony was stunning. Reviews had complained that the kitchenette was not equipped with anything to make a meal. Indeed it wasn't so we purchased cutlery, crockery and a frying pan. The cleaners came every day and were friendly, if under resourced. The breakfast was passable and the staff were friendly. The saddest thing of all is that this hotel could be amazing if the owners actually paid for a manager, a maintenance person and a cleaning team. It is clearly under staffed. The pools need cleaning, walls, paintwork, bathrooms and outdoor areas need maintenance. In our room alone the skirting was detached from wall, extractor fan and toilet seat broken. The jacuzzi was never fixed, the sofa was stained and no soundproofing.
