Awesome, recently renovated rooms with nice flooring, new mattresses, new paint, beautiful bathrooms (which approach US standards except for the Cool hot water). Very friendly staff--called me by name, fist bumped me, helpful. Good breakfast.

The stay was brief but comfortable. Very busy street and parking was difficult to get in and out. Staff helpful but gate closed early.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was very nice. They did not speak much English at all. The rooms were clean and the water was hot. The location was rather noisy , so try and get a room in the back

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They strive to please their customers. The room was cleaned daily and the hotel was a pleasant place to stay.

It wasn't horrific but there was a pretty bad smell coming out of the bathroom the whole time we were there. The staff were nice and the location was good, but there wasn't much else to write home about this hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel for two nights, didn't came with any expectations but I was surprised. Stuff was great and helpful and some of them speaks English, room was clean with hot shower, breakfast was nice with variety of options to choose from. Location is right in he middle of the market and therefore could be a bit noisy early in the morning, but it's safe and close to the center. Definitely recommend this place.

Everything about HDJM was nice. Claudia Pacay at the front desk is simply a ray of sunshine. Her energy and enthusiasm are a rare jewel. The rooms were nice, and the hot showers were heavenly. The breakfast was generous and delicious! The staff was so kind as to add little extra touches, like a vase of flowers outside our room.

When we arrived the street was busy with all the market ,people we could park our car safe inside the building. Coming inside and see the nicely patio with colourful plants and antiques was great. Getting a nice cool welcomes drink was very welcome. Our room was upstairs a nice cosy room with small bathroom. The people on the desk and kitchen were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the centre near the market and walking distance from Central Plaza. Our room was upstairs and no problems with noise from the street.

This hotel is extremely hard to find and basic Spanish skills are inadequate for checkin. Our passport and other items were stolen from our room. Enough said.

Excelente ubicación céntrica, habitaciones renovadas y buena area social de descanso. El parque es estrecho pero se ajusta. El chico de recepción atentó a todo.

Si hubieran contratado un maestro de obras, no digamos un arquitecto, el hotel hubiera tenido posibilidades. Parqueo completamente inadecuado. Baños mal diseñados. Desniveles por demas increibles. No apto para familias y vacacionistas. Es apto para agentes viajeros que buscan bajo precio y minimo de comodidades. Nada recomendable!!

Pésimo, llegue al hotel y resulta que no existía esta reservación a mi nombre por lo que no me pudieron resolver nada y me toco que hospedarme en otro lugar, no tengo una calificación más baja para brindarles que pésimo, así que no lo recomiendo!!!!

Al llegar te sorprendes un poco, porque el hotel no tiene una entrada convencional (solo un portón cerrado y un timbre) y está ubicado casi dentro del mercado. Las habitaciones se encuentran al fondo del patio/aparcamiento y apenas se oye el ruido del mercado. Desayuno según una carta con varias opciones. Servicio de limpieza diaria de la habitación (que no solo cambia las toallas, sino también deja botellas de agua pura y productos de aseo). Personal de recepción muy amable, y tienen contactos con agencias de viajes para organizar excursiones y transfers.

El hotel por dentro está bonito, mas el precio-calidad está muy alto. Está ubicado fuera del centro de cobán, hay que desviarse aproximadamente 15 minutos, y además enfrente hay un mercado que no deja descansar, ya que a las 4 de la mañana se escuchan los gritos de la gente que vende, y también del transporte.

Don't hesitate to stay here!! It is convenient located a few blocks from the "Parque Central de Cobán". During the day you may experience lots of people coming a going in the adjacent streets of the hotel. You will be experiencing the local market activities. It is safe and people and friendly. It is also a very colorful and educational cultural experience. I stayed in the new area of the hotel. These rooms are all located in the second floor. They are simple with tasteful and comfy decoration. You will enjoy a fabulous and very tasty Guatemalan breakfast. The best asset that Hotel Don Juan Matalbatz has is its staff. They really go the extra mile to make one feel at home!! It is a good balance between price, room quality and proximity to landmarks in the small town in Cobán.

El hotel es bastante limpio y la habitación en que nos hospedamos con mi socio con tamaño suficiente para descansar bien. Las camas cómodas, el cuarto y el baño muy limpio. La atención del personal fué muy respetuosa y amable. El único inconveniente es el ruido por las mañanas ya que hay buses que desde muy temprano transitan por el área.

Todo estuvo muy bien. La atención del personal es maravillosa. El hotel está limpio y bien ubicado. Lo único que no me gustó de la ubicación es lo sucio que queda en la noche y que no se siente seguro uno para caminar, sin embargo el personal estuvo ahí para recibirnos y asegurar nuestro bienestar. Gracias de nuevo y si regresaría.

I had a nice time here. Staffs are friendly and helpful to give you all information you need and welcome drink and big breakfast with fruits. It is located in the center. You can see local market in front of hotel. Just one little thing I don't like is that there was no hair drier. I really like this hotel. You can get more than you paid I am sure.
