The only downside about the stay would have been the disrespect of other guests coming/going at all hours of the night. Their loud voices in the hallway. Even with noise machine in the room it was quite loud.

Just a unique and outstanding property all around. Very friendly and helpful staff and lovely design. A real find! Heartily recommend.

Walkable to downtown. Would have appreciated them having a coffee maker in the room. There's also no counter space in washroom to place your toiletries on.

Really sweet place, love the artistic/West Coast feel :) The only glitch was finding out there was no bathtub, so no hot soak after catering the Private Dinner Party that I was in town to facilitate. Given that it would quite a challenge to install bathtubs at this point, perhaps have one outdoor hot tub on site, to make up for this?

Amazing location and amazing opportunity to make a destination accommodation, but something isn't right. Some of the people in the surrounding area make me nervous. There appears to be many unhoused in the vicinity. Universal problem, but still a reality. Making the rooms more comfortable and attractive would go a long way. Having chairs in the room would help.

Loved the layout of the hotel. The rooms were bright, very clean and nicely decorated.

The MAQ was a very fun hotel. The decor was great, the cafe had great coffee, the staff were helpful, the food was delicious and the location was wonderful - right across from the wharf with a lovely view and close to shops, restaurants and activities. I would stay there again.

Loved our stay at The Maq. Our check in was the only challenge we had. Their front desk closes at 9 pm and unfortunately due to significant travel delays we weren’t able to get to the hotel until 11:45 pm. The front desk contacted us earlier in the day and told us the envelope with our key will be in a secure place inside if we were to arrive after 9. The doors to the hotel were locked when we got there, which was very shocking. Fortunately, the BierHaus was just closing and the executive chef was kind enough to let us in and explain that due to the small nature of the town they just don’t have the staff to stay throughout the night, which was totally understandable. We were just glad to get to our room after such a long day of travel! If you’re expecting AC, there isn’t any, but not to worry, they do provide a fan and the weather when we’re there was cool and kept us comfortable. There wasn’t a refrigerator in the room, but they did provide a cooler and complimentary ice. The hotel is located near the water and in walking distance to several shops and restaurants. Overall, we had a great stay. The hotel had a cafe, bar and pub, which was very convenient. The decor was beautiful and the rooms were charming and clean. I would highly recommend staying at The MAQ if visiting Tofino.

As mentioned already on another questionnaire, It was all great, but at 70 plus our money earned over our careers doesn’t reflect the prices seen today for travellers . We are going to stay home a lot more now that we are retired.

Hotel is OK. It has the minimal services expected from a hotel. There wasn’t even a closet. Overall I think that Tofino is overrated, so my stay wasn’t particularly the highlight of my trip.

Great space to stay in town. Comfortable and clean and nice staff. Great restaurant too. Loved it all.
