I like a simple, somewhat spartan room. My bed was comfortable and I could recharge my phone and fitbit. Shared bathrooms are not for everybody but they provided a nice robe for trips to and from and the showers were fine. Had fun with the staff at breakfast.

The location is 10-12 minutes by public transport from the center, the stop is a few minutes from the hotel. Showers and toilets are shared, but quite clean and were almost always free. Cleaning is offered every day, change of towels is included. There is a bathrobe in the room. Light breakfast was a pleasant addition and included cheese and cold meats, croissants and freshly baked still warm bread, boiled eggs, honey and Nutella, cereals and muesli, fruit salad, as well as a selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, juices, smoothie, milk.

Staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. A most pleasant experience.

My week’s stay at Kloster was truly “a home away from home”. Staff were helpful, it was warm, spacious and historically characterful. The shared bathrooms were hygienic and well equipped. The view from my room of the Gampen was very pleasant and most importantly, the bed was perfect! Thank you.

If you don’t prefer a private bathroom this is a very nice place. It’s roomy, very clean and nice staff. And for Switzerland a very low price for all the convenience

The hotel did not offer any ensuite facilities. Shower facilities were on each floor but took a while to find as signage was not clear. Very vlean facilities throughout. I would stay again.

Truly different type of stay in a monastery. Rooms are spartan but clean, no tv, shared toilet and showers in the corridor. Good restaurant and location right by the train station

Lovely location and interesting building, comfy beds.

Very different from the usual hotel stay; no TV or other electronics to disturb you and the church bells at 07:00 is a great way to wake up. The shared bathrooms made me a bit apprehensive, but once I saw the bathrooms, I found them to be private and very clean. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is very unique. I highly recommend staying at the hotel, which is very close to the train station and thus easy to reach from Basel SBB. The hotel is much prettier than shown in the thumbnail, so give it a go.

This place is the most affordable by on of my workplaces. It is very budget friendly but did not include a private bathroom for the lowest cost room. I was okay with that though. Nearby is lots of pretty nature for jogging etc.

What a beautiful place. The garden was something special to visit after work. Maybe not for everyone because of the shared bathroom but the price matched the amenities. The staff was also very helpful and accommodated my later arrival.

Kloster Dornach is not for everyone as the bathrooms are shared, but the building, garden, and location are all amazing.

Set in an old Monestry rooms are basic, no curtains, bed fantastic shared shower however good value for money and nice restaurant lovely staff!

Great bedssss pity no en suite especially if you need to go in the night. Nice breakfast
