Awesome location in the middle of restaurants, shops, museums, street vendors, etc. Next to one of the ascensors in case one doesn't want to walk up/down the hill (though I usually walked). Breakfast was nice and served each morning from 8:30 am. Staff quite helpful and friendly. Had laundry done 2 times and returned next day and quite competitive price.

We had the big top room with the huge balcony which was wonderful. It was lovely sitting outside taking in the amazing views. The bed was comfortable and the bed linen nice We loved staying in a traditional old building which felt like an event in itself. The building is quite scruffy and could definitely do with a lick of paint and some TLC. However, on balance this wasn't too important, to us.

Staff was friendly. The hotel in general is a bit rickety, but clean. Difficult to find, you must walk a couple blocks from a street corner down a pedestrian alley. It’s on the top of a hill with a funicular or take the stairway outside, with over 150 steps.

The guesthouse screams the need for some serious renovations. Several things didn't work, or things like the bathtub appear to be pulling away from the walls. The fixtures are fairly basic and some are broken. It feels like the place is about 10 years past its prime and has had no investment in upkeep. Service was adequate but not particularly friendly.

The hotel was beautiful and was fun to learn the history. We had the room at the top with the large balcony and it was one of the best views we’ve had at a hotel. What really made it special was the staff, they were so kind and helpful and made us feel at home. Thank you for such a great experience!

Very charming hotel with a historic feel to it and an excellent location in Cerro Alegre right by the Victoria funicular on a pedestrian only strip (car drop off 2 minutes walk on Montt and Dimalow). The area can get noisy on Saturday night but is safe and the views from the hotel are breathtaking and worth the trip. The room was spacious, beautiful and clean, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom equipment and towels showed their age but everything was clean and functional (wait a minute or so after cold nights for the hot water to flow). Breakfast was excellent, the staff caring and attentive; gave the hotel a cozy and homey feel. Very memorable stay in the best way possible, highly recommended.

While this property is very “local”, the staff are wonderful! Estella was super helpful. The property is a very eclectic experience. Thank you!

I had the best room in the place with two balconies with an amazing view. One balcony had a table and chairs for relaxing. The bed was extremely comfortable and the whole building and staff were charming. I'd recommend this hotel in Valparaiso anytime.

Stay at this Hotel was mediocre sadly because it was not the experience that was expected. Photos of the rooms were expanded, so room was smaller than expected. Also the balcony and room are right below a popular hangout and tourist spot, so there was always people and noise right below, so one couldn't sit in the balcony without people being able to see, which was the exact opposite experience I wanted with that room. Service was very nice, breakfast was as well, so my only issue was with the room that did not live up to expectation. I think the bare minimum would be to upgrade the windows in order to shield from the noise. Location of the property is excellent though.

pros: beautiful views Friendly staff who worked to sort out various issues we had Good location to food and shops Cons: The Hotels.com listing misled us to believe the room we booked would have 2 queen beds. The hotel was able to add a twin bed to the room for us. The shower was hard to use and sprayed water everywhere A bit awkward going in and out since concierge had to unlock the gate for you each time Didn’t feel like a ton of value for the expensive room rate

I was scammed by this hotel. I had booked a “2 queen bed, double room, for 2 people”. When I arrived they put me (a male) and my (male) friend in a room with just one bed. They told us that the hotel does not have rooms with 2 beds. They wanted us to buy a separate room. Then they told us they could “upgrade” us to a room with two single beds (by breaking down a king bed into 2 single beds) for an extra $30 dollars. Reluctantly we paid the $30 dollars for the room with 2 single beds. This was not our fault. This was an error of the hotel. I should not have had to pay the $30 dollars.

Amazingly situated building in a great area, right by cool restaurants, bars, and things you'll want to visit. Fair warning: the local youths hang out on the steps below the hotel well into the night. So while they're mostly harmless and keep to themselves, you will hear them.

Place was beautiful old historic property, Carlos was extremely helpful and informative , property is a little hard to get to but worth it if that’s not an issue, right in the middle of bohemian culture and great views from hotel, enjoyed it

The hotel was in a vintage building filled with charming details. The location was excellent with many restaurants and shops within a five minute walk. The area has lots of street art and is close to an elevator stop. The staff was friendly and helpful. Recommended to anyone.
