If you need a stay, book Abangane Guest Lodge! Abangane Guest Lodge is a beautiful Lodge with nice rooms, a pool, a beautiful garden and a very delicious breakfast. Around the lodge is just nature. You'll just hear birds singing and rushing water from a waterfall. The staff is super kind, it was like a family. Thank you very much!

Brilliant stay. Margrit was more than helpful and welcoming. She upgraded our room to Honeymoon suite. The room was beautiful, well furnished and the jacuzzi was a bonus. The service was very good from both Margrit and the ladies working with her.

The property itself is beautiful. It is run by a fellow named Joe who seemed quite put out by having us as paying guests at the lodge. He commented on how irritated he was that we were in hazeyview and only wanted to go ziplining instead of doing that and other activities all day long (which Joe mentioned then but never offered the options prior to our arrival) . We arrived at the lodge after a long hot day visiting many of the sites in the area and each of us (6 adults) had a beer by the pool. Joe commented about how much we were drinking as if it shocked him that we'd each have one drink. The lodge is one of the few in the area that doesn't have either self catering or a restaurant for dinner, Joe insisted we drink from his honesty bar with grossly overpriced drinks, especially for ZA. Joe also insisted we go to one of the "local" hazeyview restaurants which were very chain like and didn't offer any information on the the wonderful restaurants located witihin competing guest accommodations. While at the resort there were rolling blackouts (no power) which started at 8am. Breakfast also started at 8 which quite conveniently for the hosts greatly cut down on what they offered for breakfast. There were no concessions made to make up for the lack of breakfast choices nor was there any option to instead serve breakfast at 7 to compensate for the blackout. All in all we enjoyed our stay but beware that Joe seems to only host guests to pay for his golf, not because he enjoys it.

The worst accommodation I’ve ever experienced in my life. -there was an error with the payments and they charged me a $10.00AUD credit card fee, so there is hidden fees to what is advertised on expedia. -we were rudely greeted, the lady’s first sentence to us was “I told you to hire a car to come here” even though we had done our research and booked private transfers -the place is not very private, it was an extremely awkward stay and we felt as if we were being watched the whole time we were out of the room -the owners told us incorrect information, we got told it was safe to walk into town at night time, although after speaking to the locals, they told us it was very dangerous as there is a lot of wild hippopotamus’s and people that could rob us as it is a common occurrence in that town -the female owner made a lot of rude and offensive comments about private game reserves stating that they feed the animals and that’s why they are there etc. -on a positive note, the rooms were neat, well presented and clean. I would suggest people to NOT book at this hotel and save the bad experience that we had!

Excellent hosts, Klaus and Ridwaan, made us feel very welcome. The honeymoon suite is worth paying the extra for as it comes with a fully functioning jaquzzi bath and is a little bigger that other rooms. It also faces the pool area. Breakfast is extensive (Klaus will insist you eat his croissants) and I too recommend the mince monty! Pool is clean and well cared for with an extensive outlook. The rooms are cleaned and there is little to want for! I would advise that you travel in an SUV or 4x4 - it makes the 400m approach road to the property a little easier to cope with and you'll need it in the Kruger for the dirt roads anyway. Evening meal? Got to be Summerfields Kitchen (2km away). Not cheap but very well presented and tasty. Would not hesitate to visit again.

Abangane means friends and, indeed, this is the feeling you get from Ridwaan and Klaus. Their boutique hotel- the room, the pool and especially the food were fantastic. Location is also great-10 min. drive from Phabeni gate and 30 min. drive from the airport. We enjoyed every minute of the 4 nights we stayed there.

Margrit hat uns daher ein wunderbares Frühstück to go zubereitet.
