We booked this lodge because it had a unique option to just book a room, and individually choose which activities/excursions you want to participate and pay for. Most places I found in the Amazon required to buy packages with an itinerary. However, when we arrived the first thing they did was try to sell us a packaged tour. We really did not want an itinerary and wanted to rest at our own leisure time. After that, the staff asked us multiple times if we wanted to go on the activities that were part of the packaged itinerary and seemed frustrated that we did not want to. There was pretty much no one around while the guide took the group out, so we couldn't ask to do nature hikes or any activities that we wanted on our own time. They actually turned off the power during the day while we were the only ones there and gave no warning of the construction, that prevented us from sleeping. The mattresses were filthy as well. My only positive notes are that it is close enough to the town to hitch hike with local fishers on a boat, and the food was very good. However, I asked a couple times how much the meals were since we were "a la carte" and no one told me until we checked out and the price was 25 soles a meal.

It's pretty basic, hot and sticky with plenty of flying, buzzing, screeching creatures, but you're in the rainforest so what do you expect? The main lodge meeting area is open plan, very spacious with plenty of place to chill, except you can't because it's flipping hot! Good value cold drinks though and the food is reasonable considering you're in a lodge in the Amazon. The rooms again are basic with a sink, toilet and cool shower and single beds with good or not so good mosquito nets (holes repairable and/or nets replaceable) but with all windows and doors screened we had no fliers anyway, just a few crawlers, but you're in the rainforest!! We got shipped to another lodge on Lake Sandoval for a couple of days which was pretty much the same.I don't know what other lodges are like or what people expect but for what we paid and where you are (it's the Amazon rainforest!) we thought this was pretty good.

When we arrived we were taken to office to discuss details and pay. They ask if you want food costs included but there's no choice, it's not a restaurant . You can't order food there . They told us they didn't have any beer or cola, the food quality went down hill everyday. Didn't look like picture for sure. The excursions were ok , Marco our guide didn't care , he just went thru the motions, I've never written bad review but this experience was bad . We talked to manager and he blew us off, he took us to airport which costs more than expected and didn't say a word . If you have good guide assigned to you. Your experience could be better . The facility was fairly described, if you don't do excursions you don't have many options. My daughter and I travel a lot and we aren't usually critical but I didn't like how they just seemed to not care, find a different place. We saw and heard of better options

Für Ausfüge / Bootstouren geeignet. Zum Entspannen weniger. Die Ausfüge lassen sich von der Lodge organisieren. Man sollte sich von der Lodge in Puerto Maldonado abholen lassen.
