At a distance the room and grounds look fabulous however, the shower lever was fused to the hot and cold so the temperature was not manageable so the bath option was tried, unfortunately, the hose was corroded and fell off when the taped were turned blasting hot water. The receptionist the next morning was totally unbothered and uninterested. It’s a real shame as everything else was superb and other staff really kind welcoming initially. Will not recommend until they have had more time with their renovations

It's a unique property as it's a historic building, walking distance to Osborne House. Staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. The restaurant serves excellent food and the breakfast room and lounge are cosy. Our bedroom was large , comfortable and clean. Highly recommend it.

The only factor in favour for the hotel is the history and the period property. It needs sprucing up the exterior and somewhat the interior. Room can get hot despite not south face. Breakfast was too slow and so we left without having the main item , 40 minutes after entering.They wrote that breakfast is leisurely but it could be putting a spin on the low staffing.Reception personnel are not quite welcoming or service like..

I had an amazing stay here. The bathroom in the room was spacious and the room was quite cosy.

Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The property is still being renovated but that didn't affect the guests. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Unfortunately the room requested was not available as we had our small dog with us so were allocated a dog friendly room which was fine but it only had a 4’6 bed which really is not expected these days. Following the downgrading of the room by the hotel and being advised that the room requested would be cheaper. The new price unfortunately was not honoured despite numerous requests for a refund so overall not the best experience.

Staff were exceptional.

While dinner was excellent, breakfast was bizarre and staff encouraged by management to offer a slow, “leisurely” experience. The issue was that we were on a set timeline in order to make our morning tour and, upon being prompted by the menu, let our server know we had an hour to dine. She let us know it would likely “be a while longer” if we ordered hot food, but then proceeded to serve every other table’s breakfast made-to-order within ten minutes. We decided to forego hot breakfast items and then sat in silence as the servers and chef chuckled about our perceived impatience.

Lovely large room that has that Victorian feel. Beautiful property and a lovely sitting room to enjoy an afternoon cocktail. Be aware that transportation on the Isle of Wight seems to be limited. Primary source of transportation is via bus. Restaurants are a bit of a hike to get too, however, the hotel restaurant is very good. Great location for the Osborne House as it is right around the corner & is a must see.
