We had such a special experience at Séptimo Paraíso. Nancy greeted us upon arrival and really made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. We loved the beautiful pops of color scattered throughout the property. We had the best time exploring and swimming in the covered and heated pool! We were also really impressed with all the homemade food and stayed the coolest suite all thanks to Nancy. She was so sweet and nice! This is an experience I will never forget and hope to be back in the near future! Gracias por todo :)

I really enjoyed the lodge, quirky decor and setting. Very attentive owner and pleasant staff. We stayed in Room 13, a very small room and bathroom, but suitable for our short stay. The grounds are well maintained, fresh fruit feeder and hummingbird feeders on the property provide up close views of local birds. The pool area was very nice and if the weather was warmer, we would have used. I only have a couple of suggestions to help improve room 13. 1. Add another rack/shelf in bathroom for towels and to place toiletries. 2. There is no place to put the shampoo and soap in the shower except the floor, add a soap/shampoo holder to the shower head. 3. Screen in windows so you can enjoy the fresh air otherwise the windows must be used due to misquitoes will come in at night. 4. A ceiling fan would help to move the air when the windows are closed. I would stay there again and recommend the lodge to friends and family. Our short stay of 2 nights was a wonderful way to relax after a fast paced group tour of Ecuador. We had our own car, you would need transportation to the town of Mindo from the lodge.

Séptimo Paraíso was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is down a back road several kilometers from Mindo. It was very quite and pleasant. The main hotel is an interesting eclectic place that is warm and inviting. The pools are keep clean and nice as are the grounds. There are many interesting hiking trails on the property. The service was great and food was delicious. The best was all the humming birds. Fun was had by all and if I am ever back in the Mindo area I will try to stay here.

We recently spent two nights at this wonderful lodge, and wished we had planned longer there. The facilities were comfortable, the food good (and plentiful), and the staff friendly and helpful. However, the star of the show was the lush natural setting, the wildlife, and the birds, birds, birds! There are fruit feeders scattered around the grounds, and they were kept well-stocked while we were there. There was a non-stop variety of tanagers, euphonias, saltators, and barbets throughout the day to provide opportunities for photography. There were also LOTS of nectar feeders around that drew in a wide variety of hummingbirds. A forest blind provided opportunities to see some shyer, skulking birds. All of this made for a wonderful couple of days. Since this was at the beginning of our Ecuador trip, we opted to bird the grounds on our own rather than hiring one of the excellent, local guides. The office manager, Nanci, was very helpful in identifying the local fauna and in helping us to find particular species of interest. I'm an avid birder but my wife is less such. Séptimo Paraíso provided a great balance of activities for both of us, in a setting we could both enjoy.

The staff was professional but not friendly. The walls are paper thin, we listened to the room next to ours snoring all night. At these rates I would expect free wi-fi, not an hourly rate charge. The restaurant is grossly overpriced and the free breakfast was meager, just fruit and bread. Mindo is a nice town and I will return but not to this hotel.

The grounds of the property are lovely, the food was delicious! Our room was disappointing because it was very musty smelling & there was lots of noise early in the morning from upstairs. I would recommend a room on the top floor for this reason. I would recommend the "night critter" tour, the guides were excellent. Lots of fun even in the rain.
