First time here, needed somewhere close for work, which this was :). Very friendly check-in lady, always great dealing with such a positive person - thank you. The room was a nice size, the fridge had provisions and the coffer was of good standard. The bathroom clean and well kept, however the water in the shower was reluctant to drain, having to stop a couple of times till the level reduced before fully rinsing everything. Out of control of the hotel - Other guests and outside noise - due to the hours I work, I like to get to bed early-ish, however still at gone 11pm the guests (with children) were making enough noise to disturb, additionally as the building is so old, most things are connected to each other, the table in the room (glass top) rattled due to the neighbours movements - Would I stay here again? I only stayed here this time due to convenience, I may well give it another go at some point, but wont be rushing to come back

The hotel is located o the second floor over a pub in the centre of the banking district. It’s a beautiful old building and the rooms have a a lot of original features. The hotel was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet for the centre of London. The staff are very helpful and we were lucky that our room was ready early. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. there was a fridge in the room with some complimentary soft drinks and fresh milk. Those was also an espresso maker. The room has a decent hairdryer and an iron and ironing board. The room includes complementary breakfast which is in the pub downstairs. There’s a small buffet of fruit and pastries and then a menu to order from Service was quick and food was good. The pub was quiet at the weekend which is not unusual and we had dinner there on the Saturday night. It was normal pub food and good quality. It is expensive but standard for the location. We will definitely stay again as it is a good location for visiting different parts of London.

The counting house is right around the corner from a clients office I frequent in London. It is truly an excellent experience. I love how they have remodeled the rooms.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Great price for the location, and a nice pub attached. Only negative was the motion detecting light in the bathroom sometimes stayed on so needed to cover with a towel, but only a minor issue.

This is the original character and magic that Disney tries (and fails) to capture and put into cages in theme parks. Lots of London hotels in older buildings have character, which can include windows in the basement, or beds you must climb over to reach the bathroom. But though building is old, rooms are Hilton-clean and new, yet haven't had the soul sucked out of them. Breakfast was good, and nice to eat in the quiet pub. As a caution, corridors and elevator are tiny and stairs are steep. The whole place is just odd, in a good way. Location is also good especially if you need something towards the business end, Liverpool Street station, or Tower of London, but not impossibly far from West End shows. I'd stay again for sure - though I'm guessing most times it would be out of my price range.

Rudely awakened by a window cleaner at 5.50am! Guy on Reception was not even apologetic- what hotel has someone cleaning windows at that time in the morning! Great breakfast and service staff as normal 2 bottles of old milk in the fridge so housekeeping need to up their game

I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the updated rooms and bathrooms, especially considering the building's older architecture. The blend of modern amenities with historical charm made for a unique and comfortable stay. The breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was both good and convenient, providing a great start to the day. The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful, which added to the overall positive experience. Additionally, the hotel's location is fantastic, with bars, restaurants, and shopping all within walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Unusual hotel. Good location being ten minutes walk to Liverpool Street station, the tower and St.Pauls. the breakfast was a great bonus and it is A good pub downstairs. The rooms are good and well appointed. My only concern is that the hotel is a converted bank. We loved the decor and feel of the place but it ihas long and winding hallways which I wouldn't want to carry large suitcases around. A carry on case isn't an issue. So a bit quirky but breakfast makes up for it
