The George combines a beautiful old building with clean, fresh interiors which are comfortable and thoughtfully planned - plenty of storage and hanging space, plenty of space in the bathroom for damp towels etc. I visit annually and it's a pleasure to see the same staff each year I visit! A comfy bed with padded headboard (ideal for reading), Smart TV and decent wifi add to the convenience. My room overlooked South Molton's main street but the double-glazing is so effective there was no noise. Breakfast is delicious and service is prompt and friendly. Some of the rooms have a couple of steep steps up to them so those with mobility issues might want to let the hotel know so they can allocate rooms accordingly.

Cleanest hotel I have stayed in. The staff where really helpful and the food was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.

We stay at The George regularly visiting relatives and we wouldn't stay anywhere else, excellent rooms and breakfast second to non - thank you to all at The George :)

The George was a great place to stay, dog friendly and all the staff were great and very welcoming and helpful. Although they don’t serve food in the evening, they were very accommodating, being very happy for us to bring a takeaway back to the dinning room to eat there. The breakfast was also excellent as were the staff waiting on!!. Thanks for a great stay!

Very clean and tidy room, centrally located in this small town, Hotel does not do evening meals but lots of takeaway options and several pubs serving food in the evenings all in easy walking distance.

Nice old hotel with parking. On the main road with a cafe downstairs. Room was nicely decorating and in good condition with a lovely comfy bed. The smell of dog in the room was really bad and I had an asthma attack even with the window open all night.

Arrived very early but was able to check in. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Room was lovely and clean. Would recommend and will stay again.

Hotel was well run and the chef kindly cooked some food of mine due to numerous dietary restricttions, and did it beautifully. Dog was welcome and much kindness shown to both of us. Would highly recommend particularly to solo travellers or those with dog.

Great place to stay,very warm and friendly. Great location for exploring North Devon. Highly recommend.
