Clean property, amazingly friendly staff (especially Matilda). Loved the ambience, the quality of the food and wines. Only very minor quibble was we were in the eaves which did not give us a lot of headroom when getting into bed. Loved this place and would highly recommend it and would like to return in the future. We had a great time. Staff were great (mostly) and really helpful and friendly. Food in the restaurant was excellent, my wife and I loved every dish. The bar was well stocked with some great (and favourite) scotch so that was a bonus. We arrived Friday and left Sunday and on the Saturday we had a late lunch which was lovely, sat outside in the garden with the local church in view. Room was comfy and we had the bonus of a little private courtyard which was unexpected. Our only negative came on Sunday morning when we came to breakfast. Saturday we'd opted for breakfast in the room which was good, one note, full English could do with either beans or tinned tomatoes as its a bit dry without. Good quality bacon and sausage though. Sunday went to the breakfast location to be met by member of staff we hadn't seen before who informed us that breakfast wasn't here it was in the bar. I say informed, told us as if we were idiots for not knowing. She escorted us to the bar to a tiny table and asked if we knew about buffet. We didn't so she then took us back to the room we'd originally gone to where we found the buffet and dozens of guests waiting to order breakfast! Back in the bar we were the only people without young children. Obviously now walking back and forward to the real location for drinks and toast. We discovered as we left that there was a bridal fair on in the breakast room which would explain the banishment. Better communication and review would be excellent.

Perfect location (for visiting Lincoln), excellent staff and accommodation, delightful gardens and plentiful parking.

The hotel was extremely well maintained. Our executive room was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed sleeping in a king size bed. The staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast choices were excellent. The bar was well stocked and open till 11.00pm, however, one could still order drinks through reception. The hotel had excellent parking facilities and the grounds were kept immaculate. Although approximately 5 miles from the centre of Lincoln, there was a frequent bus service every 30 minutes into the centre and the nearest bus stop was about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

This is a lovely hotel, with excellent helpful and caring staff. The newer Elizabethian addition to the hotel is modern and good quality. The food is excellent with well sized portions which tempt you into another course. Parking is good but possibly difficult if the hotel is busy. We chose to have breakfast in Lincoln as its only 15 minutes away.

A Beautiful hotel...Peaceful and relaxing. Lovely helpful, professional staff. Delicious food, breakfast is such a 'Treat' cooked to order, the best omelettes ever!! Fresh juices, fresh sourdough bread!...The space and ambience in the dining room is very relaxing. The staff are friendly and cannot do enough to help. The rooms are very comfortable, with lovely beds. The downstairs snug/bar area are very lovely areas to sit and have a quiet drink. The whole place is just very 'Special'. We are already planning our next visit!'......The grounds and setting are very 'Tranquil' & welcoming.10/10!

Excellent hotel - very comfortable and homely. Staff were super friendly and helpful arranging surprise balloons for a birthday and late checkout.

Parking was easy and plenty of spaces.room was clean and staff were polite and helpful plus dinner we had was excellent.

Friendly helpful staff, a lovely comfortable place.Our room was a good size with a large modern ensuite. Nice toiletries etc. The breakfast buffet provided a wide choice plus a variety of hot dishes to order.

The breakfast was very good and the poached eggs amazing. Good spirits selection but beer on tap would be great. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The hotel was perfect for our stay. It was easy to access and peaceful in some lovely grounds. The room was clean and very comfortable. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant as we were attending a funeral in the area. The breakfast was lovely ; there was a great select of juices, cereal, fresh croissants and a nice selection on the menu for a cooked breakfast as well. Would recommend and use again .
