This hotel was really nice. From minite we arrived staff were great. The room was lovely, had everything that we needed and was very quiet during the night. Food in the restaurant was to die for, we had booked our anniversary meal and it did not disappoint. They even dressed the table in recognition of it being our anniversary with a bottle of processco. Breakfast next mornkng was very nice too, top quality ingredients and proper juices. Lovely that it is on the same grounds of forbidden corner, we visited there before leaving. Would definitely recommend and return

Lovely room, views spectacular, booked for Sat and Sun 2 nights Bed & Breakfast however was informed only on check in that there was no breakfast Monday morning as they are closed, dissapointed on Sunday to find all options for food on site where also closed by 6pm, there are pubs about 3 mile away in Middleham but after a couple of drinks during the day no option to drive there so left feeling somewhat hungry until next day to find somewhere for breakfast after checking out. Maybe expedia should point this out when booking, not sure if booking direct you are informed of the closing times etc.

Fantastic location, particularly if you have dogs. Room was great, restaurant was perfect and staff were really helpful.

The reception staff were really welcoming, the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. It is a well presented hotel and in nice surroundings and location. Breakfast was really nice and good quality. My only criticism was in the evening in the bar the staff were at times not as responsive as they could be such as bringing condiments and taking time to serve on the bar/getting orders wrong. It didn't effect the overall stay and the food quality was brilliant. I would definitely return.

It was a last minute trip and it surprised us massively, beautiful estate, fantastic food and comfortable accommodation!

Not easy to find if you follow SatNav. Better to follow directions provided. Very pleasant situation in beautiful countryside. Staff were great, Room was good and reasonably comfortable but we fail to see how it qualified to be DeLux. Just little things would make a huge difference, For instance TV was mounted too high on the wall and therefore not comfortable to watch. Lighting was gloomy. Shower needed a grab rail being an over bath arrangement. Food was a bit of a let down, I started with scallops which were accompanied by a sauce which certainly didn't compliment them I followed this up with Halibut which was excellent. My wife had lamb which again was accompanied by a dominating sauce which if any thing didn't compliment the dish. Overall we had a pleasant couple of days away in superb surroundings. Would we go again possibly not.

We absolutely loved our stay. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for you (without being over bearing). The whole place was spotless, the food was impeccable and it was very dog friendly. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

One of my favourite places to stay! Beautiful countryside. Lovely comfortable, characterful rooms with horse racing theme! Friendly staff, and excellent freshly cooked breakfasts made with locally sourced ingredients. Plenty of parking. We stayed on a Tuesday when the main restaurant is closed, but enjoyed our evening meal at the White Goose Pizza Co. which is only minutes walk away.

I can’t fault this place. Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing food, beautiful room. Looking forward to our next stay.
