The property is nice but it is really a restaurant with some bedrooms. The staff at all touch points (check in, requests for help, etc) were not terribly friendly or knowledgeable- especially when it wasn’t “business hours.” We were also put in a room that has no business being booked out during warm months. I grew up in house that was over 200 years old so I am very familiar with the challenges of no AC and heat rising and the solutions available to you. We were on the third floor and the room measured in at 96 degrees the first night and didn’t drop below 85 for the entirety of the night even with cooler overnight temperatures. The first two floors of the building were markedly cooler. The two rooms on the top floor really should not be rented out when temps rise above 70 degrees Fahrenheit if they’re not going to invest in proper cooling technologies (and yes, they exist for listed buildings).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Perfectly located in the central market with a nice outdoor terrace. Justine was absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful with our baby, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! Highly recommend!

Lovely stay and very welcoming staff!

Staff was very helpful and told of the sights we shouldn’t miss. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Breakfast was hearty and tasty. Room was clean and fresh.

Very welcoming from the time we walked in and service for entire stay did not disappoint. Room comfortable and we really liked the decor! All amenities provided. While we did not have a car the bus stop was conveniently located across the street. Food and staff were excellent. Very relaxed atmosphere while being in the center of town. Old Stocks Inn was fine but not great. Room was clean. Shower was nice. The "double bed" was two singles pushed together. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed and unable to handle the guests even though there didn't seem to be very many people. They were not able to accommodate us for dinner at the restaurant and we had to make reservations for breakfast. I've never before had to make a breakfast reservation at a hotel I'm staying at. There was parking, but the staff didn't explain how it worked until our second night.

Two cozy fireside areas, great food and wonderful rooms. Highly recommend

If you are looking for a rustic Cotswolds experience then this is for you. Quaint rooms with exposed beams and old fashioned claw foot tub. However, for those with mobility issues, this is not the place for you. Multiple flights of stairs that are difficult and the tub is hard to get in and out of. The toilet is also off in a small closet and heating/cooling are hard to control. Breakfast is excellent though.

Staff was warm and engaging. Wanted us to have a good experience. Room was spotless, with fresh milk in the fridge for our coffee. The restaurant on site was delicious. The main course we had was 5 Start. Location- could not be beat.

The inn is very clean and lots of space in the lobbies and back garden. Beautiful location and right in the center of the village. The staff is exceptionally helpful from the front desk to the cleaning crew, all are friendly and attentive!

This property was immaculate! As someone who travels quite frequently using Expedia, I've had terrible experiences but this was far from that. A family owned hotel with great service and rooms!

Wonderful and helpful staff. Our room was beautifully decorated, clean, and spacious. The bar and dining area were very charming and elegant. The location was very convenient and walkable for the town and also for exploring the rest of the Cotswolds. I would stay here again and would highly recommend the Old Stocks Inn to others.

Very quaint property that was very clean with friendly staff. I appreciated the little details to make my dog feel welcome as well - water bowl, dog bed, and treats ready for the stay! The bar was convenient for a relaxing drink in the back patio area. It's centrally located in Stow-on-the-Wold and right by the bus stop. I was able to easily take the local bus to neighboring towns for exploring and getting to the train station. It was a wonderful stay for my first time, and I will definitely be back!

Absolutely a great place and a hidden gem. Friendly staff, super clean, great food and drinks, and a perfect location. Stow is such a great spot and the hotel was a perfect fit for our travels.

This place is cozy and perfectly situated in a beautiful old town. The linens are so soft and the bed comfortable, although a British King (US Queen). Also our room only had one small window, so beware when traveling in the summer as there is no a/c.
