It was a convenient place to spend a night on our way south and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodation and especially the breakfast. There plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

Stay was ok , as to be expected from a budget hotel. As with all of them you get a comfortable bed and hot water for a shower. The male receptionist with a squeaky voice was a big disappointment as he insisted we had not paid for the room. We assured him we had. He ignored us and three times asked for payment. Eventually we showed him a payment made from our bank. With this he moved off his chair and looked in a pile of folders 2 foot away from him and found our reservation. No apology , he just continued to check us in. I don’t expect a lot from budget hotels , but this guy was so lazy , he couldn’t be bothered to look for our reservation until we showed him proof of payment.

We have stayed three times now over a two year period. It has gone from very new condition to quite used, but OK and clean. The room had an odour, probably a smoker had used it before but it went away with the window being left open. Our main issue was the WiFi. It did connect but the speed was not enough to stream TV. It was fine on our first visit so maybe this bedroom was too far away from the access point. Several chain restaurants within walking distance, decent restaurants would need a car journey. Overall good value for the money but we have had better for the same price

Prompt service at reception, with provision of extra pillows as only two on the bed. Would have liked some tissues in the very clean bathroom with excellent shower. Also, would like kettle in room, as do not wish to find early morning tea/coffee elsewhere

Not impressed, I've now stayed in all four local Deol hotels, but Ace does not match up with the competition, the room was tiny, the shower water leaked all over the bathroom floor, the wifi was out of action for the whole duration of the trip and the room stank of cigarettes even though the hotel claims to be non-smoking. I stay in this area often but will be switching back to B&B Hotels.

Of all the Ace Hotels we have stayed at, this one was the most disappointing. The room had a bad odour to it [masked it with perfume]; the skirting board was disengaged from the wall, and a hazard [would be easy to fix with replacement double sided tape]; there was what looked like mould on the ceiling in one corner and mould in shower base corners, base of shower doors and outside shower at base. Pillows not great and the plastic or rubber mattress protector left us drenched during the night. On the plus side, the linen was fresh and clean and the room a good size.
