Great location and the bar/ restaurant area was nice and the food was good. While the rooms and corridors were clean everwhere upstairs is in need a serious update, shower barely ran, no internet in the rooms, traffic noise constantly which some decent glazing would minimise. Breakfast was only until 9.30 on weekends which is early but only until 8.30am on weekdays which means either no lie in or no breakfast!

We didn't like that there was no hot water for a shower or wifi. The building was quite run down!

The room was extremely rundown. Stains al over ceiling and walls. Wallpaper hanging off. Radiator broken. Carpets dirty. Hotel corridors stunk of mould and dirty walls and carpets.

The hotel and room were old, tired and in need of general maintenance.Low water pressure made hot water non existent in the shower, which was also unable to stay in any position other than the lowest setting which would only make it effective for a three foot child. Breakfast was fair at best. A very disappointing week considering the hotel advertising showed an embellished angle

Horrendous and unforgivable stay at this so-called hotel which Morpeth should be ashamed to have trading in the lovely town. From the start I want to state that the staff at the Waterford Lodge are not at fault, they tried to make my stay the best that it could be given what they have to work with, but this was to prove impossible. The lodge is very rundown and shows a lack of investment. Let me be blunt rooms are awful, worn out and offer no comfort whatsoever. The mattress on the bed offered no support and prevented any chance of a comfortable night's sleep, the duvet was so thin it might as well have been missing and the pillows were as hard as sandbags and bore many stains they had obviously not been laundered in a decade. The room was always cold. The television was so old you would expect to find it in a museum. The only seat in the room was an uncomfortable small stool. The bathroom was dated in terms of décor also showed many signs of constant wear and tear together with lack of maintenance however the main issue was that the shower did not work (the management response to this was to use the bath, no chance given that when I filled it with water numerous hairs etc. floated to the surface absolutely disgusting). The noise was always a constant issue, (the contemptible management response to this was I should have brought earplugs with me). Avoid at all costs even if you believe that the rate chargeable offers value for money because it will not.

We needed something central in Morpeth for a boys reunion. For £50 per room per night it was ideal and included a good full English breakfast

The staff were friendly, breakfast were good, the room that we stayed in needs updating, very old fashioned, paper peeling off, and hanging down. Lady on reception informed us the rooms are in the process of getting updated.

This a good value place to stay, room may not be in the best decoritive state, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable and breakfast good. Transport links are good with train station up the road and bus stops across the road to newcastle. I would stay sgain

I thought this was excellent value for money. Some fittings in the bedroom (first floor) were aging but it was spacious and comfortable. Well lit and good desk and adequate tv. Breakfast a good mixture of help yourself and being served at the table.

The premises are dated and in urgent need of upgrade. We had two rooms, one smelt badly of dampness. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok, but the sausages were the cheapest of the cheap! Outside of the premises is again in need of update. The building looks tired and neglected. However, there are plenty of parking spaces. It is centrally located and is in easy walking distance of all amenities. Overall, I would describe it as, cheap and cheerful.

The complete property is in need of knocking down and rebuilding , the decorations are from the 80s and have not been touched since, the rooms are disgusting with paint peeling and ceiling wall paper cracked , the breakfast was uneatable and 1 sausage 1 slice of bacon and 1 cold hash brown , I would not advise any one booking a stay
