We had previously eaten at this hotel and were so impressed that we decided pay another visit and stay the night. We were not disappointed. The room was excellent. Every member of staff we met were warm and friendly and the cooked breakfast was superb. Appledore is such a lovely destination and a stay at the Royal George makes it all the more special. We'll be back!

Lovely big and clean room. Mini fridge had cold water and some milk to use with the Nespresso machine. Bathroom was clean and the shower was great. The welcome and ambience were excellent. The food was superb. The view was outstanding. I wholly recommend staying and dining here.

Lovely room and bathroom, with a shower and bath! Food was fabulous and its right on the South West Coastal Path with wonderful views across the beaches at the mouth of the Taw and Torridge rivers.

Lovely place by the water. We asked to stay for dinner but told could only do 5.45 which was just as we arrived and we wanted to eat later. Tables free all evening but told they could only feed so many people every 15 mins. Surely 2 residents could have been fed???!!! Very disappointing. Room so light we didn’t sleep. Fantastic bathroom. Had to park overnight in a pay snd display as no parking which wasn’t mentioned on booking. Delicious breakfast.

Overall an excellent place to stay. The breakfast menu is wonderful. Very helpful staff and the whole place is slick and span Lovely view across the estuary.

Nice place but little notice about access and parking

We have just enjoyed a 2-night break in the Deluxe Junior Suite and really can't fault this accommodation. The suite itself is stylish comfortable and pristine. Our room had a balcony where we could watch the tide come in, reaching right under the balcony. This is a really lovely place to relax and watch the boats on the water. The breakfasts were tasty and generous and dinner excellent. The staff were cheerful and keen to make sure we had all we needed to enjoy our stay.
