The cabins certainly need updating, however it was clean. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were nice.

Loved the cabin just hoped for better water pressure in the shower.

Quiet cottage in the middle of everything we love to do in Bar Harbor.

It was ok had some construction and very close to the major highway.

Quaint cottage life

Nice space but had a very strong glade plug in going upon arrival that was overpowering. I would suggest going no scent in the future.

We were put in cabin number eight and we’re very disappointed. The bedspread had stains on it. The curtains had stains on them. It was so musty smelling our clothes smelled for a week after we got home even though I put them outside on our porch. Other cabins there have been cleaned up, but not this one. Make sure you are not put in cabin number eight.

I was under the impression that these were private cabins. We shared a wall with another guest. We heard their dog barking. And I was awake all night to a clicking sound coming from the heater. The room smelled bad. The bed was super uncomfortable. The only good thing was we arrived after the office closed. I called and let them know I was on my way and they left the keys for us in a lockbox. Thank goodness it was for only one night.

Great place, not far from to bar harbor.

Cute little cottages. The most comfortable bed! Just be sure to ask before using the fireplaces some are no longer in service.

Nice old-time cottages

We stayed in the Junior “Deluxe” Cabin aka 5A. The pictures online were not associated to any cabin they just have all the pictures on the site, or was labeled by name instead of number so you really don’t know what you’re getting. We asked our neighbors and they said they didn’t get what they booked either. The pictures I saw associated to our cabin, showed a full kitchen and we only had a microwave and mini fridge. There’s about 2 inches of clearance above and below the door so you could see outside. The water pex pipes to the cottage are ran above ground. There was no hand soap so we asked for some and they said they were out and getting some the next day. They never brought it we got our own. They did have some very nice looking cabins online but buyer beware. We will definitely be back to bar harbor but not back to Hinckley’s. We did book because it was cheaper but not that much cheaper. It really put a damper on our stay and we almost cut our losses and went somewhere else. It was smaller than a super 8. There is a communal fire pit that was under repair and the pool looked like it had never been serviced before.

The cottage was clean, parking is tight and road to cottages is rough. We couldn’t figure out the volume to the tv and the flames in the fire places didn’t work the heat did. Just minor issues. If you’re looking for a place to sleep the location is good to go into bar harbor town and Acadia park.

Cabin number eight smelled musty. The air freshener we bought didn’t help at all. Curtains were dirty. Stains on the wallpaper. It wasn’t cheap either. I’d take a pass on Hinckleys until they clean up all of their cabins.

Do not rent from this property without first researching the many reviews that exist for it on different websites. My very poor ratings are based on its high price coupled with the following comments. We chose for proximity to Bar Harbor at a seemingly reasonable price. Very old, very cold at night, shear/see-thru drapes, door with air gap at top and inoperable deadbolt, all appliances (Micro, toaster, coffee maker) all plugged into single outlet. Attempted to use toaster in morning, which set off smoke alarm. Outside views show incomplete and decayed exteriors of other cottages, and swimming pool that appears to have been abandoned while under construction. Asked twice for owner to call me about our Expedia 4-day deal, but never called. We purchased other accommodations after the first nite. After searching other reviews on numerous sites, I discovered that this is pretty common reaction to this property.

In general, I had a good experience. We can find one or two pots/pans that are not severely scratched to make some meals (a lot of places we stayed don't have any pans that are in good condition). The location is good as it is close to the visitor center. The staff is also nice, we needed an extra blanket at around 10 pm, and they were still able to assist with that even though it has been past their office hour.

Bathroom needs updates. No hot water. The cottage furnishings are adequate .
