We had a great time here- it’s a charming old fashioned manor house hotel.

Old and not very clean

Sauntehus Slotshotel was a very good stay. The room was comfortable without being luxe, everything was clean and working. We didn’t have dinner in the restaurant but breakfast was excellent. The grounds and building itself were lovely.

Fastest check-in ever (it was done remotely and without any fuss), rooms prepared as requested, parking (until 11 am) provided. No restaurant or bar in the hotel but restaurants are very close. Coffee maker available.

This is an old fashioned romantic manor-style hotel on the Danish Riviera. It was difficult to find because it is listed in the town of Hornbaek but seemed to be in the neighboring town of saunte instead. We found it eventually and it was very lovely. The service was friendly and we also enjoyed breakfast in the neautiful dining rooms. Our room was very nice with a separate door to the bedroom. There was a pretty canopy for the bed and we had a small outdoor space with table and chairs. It was also very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful place. Historic with great grounds. Three nights. Very helpful staff. Appreciated them accommodating us by specially preparing lunch for us and a small family group.

We stayed here for 3 nights, using it as a base from which to explore Northern Zeeland. The hotel is in a beautiful location, and we really enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace which overlooks the gardens. Overall we felt that the hotel was excellent value for money. Rooms were very clean but slightly cramped and decor was a bit dated. It would have been nice to have had coffee making facilities as well. The big disappointment was that the swimming pool was closed for repairs, as this was one of the main reasons for making the reservation. We hired bikes from the Hornbaek House Hotel in Hornbaek, which was a great way to explore the surrounding area. There is a nice lake in Hornbaek, as well as a forest area close to the coast. Gilleleje was a delightful town further along the coast, with a nice harbour. Cycling inland we went through a forest area to reach Havreholm, and then continued down to Lake Esrum which was stunning.

The manor house and grounds were beautiful. The rooms, however were dated and musty. The bathroom was dingy and was in dire need of new fixtures. The dinners were over-priced and unmemorable.

Interesting property with historical feel, but also in need of some general updates to room decor. Staff were courteous and accommodating. Our package did not include breakfast, unusual for Denmark.

A nice nigth on a trip from Stockholm Sveden to Jylland Denmark, but unfortunately there were so few guests that the kitchen coudn't serve anything else than a full dinner

The Sautehus is located convenient located in a beautiful, secluded location 3 kms. from Hornbaeck, a small resort town in northern most Zealand It has beautiful gardens and lovely sitting rooms. Our room, no. 6, was in the main manor house. It was large and nicely decorated. It had a large bathroom. The small porch looked out onto the huge, expansive garden. It was quiet.

A pleasant stay marred by factors which could easily have been eliminated. No towels in room on arrival and no telephone to request them then reception closed. Lack of telephone to call service a distinct and unusual negative factor. Long wait for meal which we considered avoidable. Light fitting fell out of ceiling in bathroom while shaving with no proportionate apology for the event. Service was otherwise friendly. No tea or coffee making facilities which we found unusual in this standard of accommodation in Scandinavia.

TV oh wifi virkede ikke (de andre gæster havde samme problem) Poolen var meget svær at finde, den var ikke på oversigtskortet eller anden skiltning. Jeg måtte ha kokken som mødte ind kl 7 til at hjælpe mig Havde glædet mig til at svømme en times tid, men det var hurtigt overstået c den var kun halvt fyldt med vand og selvom jeg kun er 163 skrabede mine knæ på bunden og temperaturen var ikke over 20 grader…. Hvis de sælger det som slotshotel, skal ALT fungere. Værelset var dejligt, dog igen andre som havde samme problem, lyset på badeværelset gik ud, imens man stod i badet. Der var en beholder med fuldstændig standard hår og kropssæbe…… IKKE på et slot, der må det gerne være flere og lækre produkter. Var f.eks et par dage efter på et lille badehotel i Liseleje, der kunne de godt finde ud af lækre og forskellige produkter på badeværelset. Der var måske personaleproblener, en var kastet ind i det som vikar og så var der bare en kok…. 2 personer??? Til det hele Min dør ud til den lille altan kunne praktisk taget ikke lukke til,….

Tyvärr är hela slottet efter gällande underhåll och känslan är att det varken finns pengar eller intresse att göra det bättre. Duschar vid poolen utan munstycke, väggar som behöver målas, spindelnät i lampor på många ställen, slitna möbler och allmänt nedgånget. Synd.

Kedeligt, at der ikke er personale og morgenmad om mandagen, da det er vanskeligt at finde morgenmadssteder i rimelig nærhed
