Positives: The staff is great; the private beach is lovely; the pools are terrific; the room was a nice, open layout; and the bed was really comfortable. Negatives: The water in the shower is salty - it dries out your hair immediately (even more than the pools & ocean do); You have to close out the check with the bar each day - they will not allow you to charge to the room and pay at the end of the trip (literally had a bartender knock on the room door at 9:30pm my first night telling me I had to pay the bill for 3 drinks from earlier in the day) - & for some reason you can't tip on the tab, so you also need cash; There is no water dispenser & the front desk and bar run on limited hours (nobody there from about 10pm-7am or so) - so if you run out of water you're dehydrated until the next day; The drinks are extremely expensive - for example, there is only 1 (okay-ish) Sauvignon Blanc available and the bottle costs about $75 USD; There is a coffee maker in the room (uses Nespresso original line) but you have to buy the pods from the front desk, and get a coffee cup/sugar/milk from the bar; No toothpaste (as stated) in the event that you run out; and The Tapir Suite does not have a patio or balcony, as advertised. There were a few other no-so-great things, but these are important issues for guests to know.

Our stay was smooth and relaxing the staff super friendly and attentive. All the waiters and room maintenance girl amazing and helpful. They offer massages I just wish they have a private booth or something to make the massages more enjoyable and private. The beach it’s beautiful, the food descent variety for the size of the place but EXCELLENT and delicious. Definitely coming back :)

A great place to hangout for some rest and relaxation for. Few days on the coast. Great breakfast and food. Slight word of warning for the small bungalows, they’re on the main road and by the nature of how they are built, aren’t the most soundproof. So might be an issue for light sleepers.

My stay at the Tótem Beach Club Hotel was absolutely unforgettable. It’s a stunning place to spend a vacation—beautiful surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, and exceptional service from start to finish. The food and wine were outstanding, with every meal thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect beach getaway!

Beautiful property with very nice beach.

We regret not staying here longer! 2 nights was not enough. The staff was so kind, especially Jonathan and Juliana. We felt really well taken care of from start to finish. The pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s right on the calm, beautiful water with palapa, chairs, beds, and multiple pools. The restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. We kept thinking we’d go into town but we never once left the hotel because the food and service was so good. Can’t wait to go back.

En general todo estuvo bien pero el servicio de internet era intermitente el agua que corre por las tuberías era de mar y estaba algo sucia la zona de camastros al rededor del club está súper feo hay casas particulares con cercas que invaden la playa y la calle de enfrente aparte de estar muy sucia no tiene banqueta la habitación está muy linda nos quedemos en bungalow

I recently spent three days at this hotel while travelling in Mexico for a wedding in late February. When I first arrived, the staff took me to my room, which was on the ground level and situated amongst several tables. Numerous people were sitting at the tables directly outside the room. The rooms face the ocean and are sheer glass such that when the curtains are open, the rooms are completely visible. When I raised this with the staff, they informed me they were fully booked, and there was no option for me to stay elsewhere. As I had driven so far that day and had prepaid for my room I felt that I had limited options and attempted to settle into my room. I then went to the front desk and informed them that I could not stay the two nights at which time she showed me to the room on the second floor (after she said me that they were fully booked). The second room was absolutely stunning with gorgeous views of the sunset two beautiful beds and a lovely bathroom. The hotel has only 4 rooms available but is a beach club during the day such that members of the beach club use the pool and facilities. Dance music blares all day long from 11-7 and totally takes away from the experience of this beautiful place. I am plant-based and there was limited options on the restaurant menu although what I had was lovely. This is a beautiful place however, if you’re looking for a quiet beach front getaway, you might want to consider going somewhere else

This is a great superchill beach club for the area. During the week you can have the place almost to yourself, with more families and kids on the weekend.

We had a fabulous experience staying at totem. The rooms were beautiful, the food and drinks were excellent, the beach was pristine and the service was outstanding. Luxurious and relaxing haven!

Totem Beach Club is gorgeous . Very trendy vibe . Many places to sit and watch the ocean . Easy to walk to activities and the center . I give it a lower rating because of the room. There was no bathroom in the room and no sink . Which can be very difficult at night especially for older people and little ones . The room didn’t have a writing desk. No coffee maker - the restaurant doesn’t open until 11:am. No tissue . It is about 15-20 minutes walking to the center for coffee and breakfast .Doable of course . I wish this Beach club the best of luck on their projects . If there was these amenities in the room I would book here again.

The property is beautiful, the staff lovely, food delicious and the rooms clean and comfortable. The issue is the Expedia description seems misleading. When I booked the room it said 3 king beds. There was 1 king bed and 1 twin when we arrived. I had tried to contact the property several times to clarify this with no answer. The bathrooms and showers are shared with the beach club, but are very clean. I wish the booking showed photos of the shared facilities because it may deter guests without. I would most definitely stay here again.
