Booked based on a 4-star rating, but the overall experience fell well short. The breakfast was a takeaway bag with a few basic items (buns, ham, cheese, apple, juice box), which felt cheap and did not align with the price or rating. The room was functional but very plain. A fold-out bed placed on the floor and exterior corridors gave the property a budget, motel-style feel rather than that of a hotel. The biggest issue was no hot water in the morning, with barely lukewarm water available. The reason given by the hotel was cold weather outside and full occupancy straining the system, but this should not affect guest comfort at this level. Access and support were limited. Check-in is via an outdoor terminal, and attempts to use the live chat in the evening went unanswered, leaving no way to get help. Overall, the property does not reflect what most travelers would expect from a 4-star listing. No refund or credit was offered by the hotel.

Stayed at Blackhome Tivoli and the experience did not match its 4-star listing. Check-in is fully self-service via an outdoor screen. Live chat didn’t respond in the evening, and with no staff onsite, there was no assistance available. Rooms were basic, with a pull-out third bed on the floor and outdoor hallways, giving a motel-like feel rather than 4-star. Breakfast was a small bag of ham, cheese, buns, and juice—far below 4-star expectations. There was no properly hot water in either room in the morning; only lukewarm at best. The hotel’s explanation of full occupancy and cold weather doesn’t justify this for a 4-star property, especially in a winter sports city like Innsbruck. The guest laundry was also visibly unclean. Overall, the property is misrepresented as 4-star. A similar self-check-in concept hotel we had booked elsewhere offered proper 4-star quality, amenities, and service. The hotel provided no refund or credit of any kind despite admitting some issues. Future travellers should check expectations carefully.
