An Open Trip includes other participants you may not be acquainted with, while a Private Tour is exclusively for your group.

Mandatory exclusion

Drinks will not be provided for groups with more than 10 participants.

Participant eligibility

This activity is suitable for participants who are at least 8 years old.

Child tickets are valid for visitors aged 8 - 13 years old.

Adult tickets are valid for visitors 14 years old and above.

No prior Kendo experience is required. Participant of all levels are welcome.

Guide & assistance

A professional Kendo instructor (30 years of experience) will guide participants throughout the session.

Meeting points & pick-up locations

Meet at JR Hanazono Station North Exit, Hanazono Teranouchicho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture at 10:00.

Once participants have gathered at the meeting point, the guide will escort the group to the local dojo.

The operator is not responsible for missed sessions due to late arrivals.

Tour program

This tour consist of several activities, including:
- Wearing SAMURAI armor
- Bowing ceremony
- Learning about "SAMURAI"
- Striking practice
- Match (Combat game)

The duration of this tour is 1.5~2 hours, but may vary due to on-ground situations.

Participants are encouraged to avoid scheduling subsequent activities on the same day to ensure a smooth tour experience.

Group size

The tour requires a minimum of 2 participants to join. If this requirement is not met, the tour will be canceled.

Groups with a few participants may be merged with other groups.

Dress code & restrictions

Wear comfortable clothes suitable for physical movement.

All earrings, piercings, watches, and other jewelry must be removed before putting on the Kendo uniform.

Participants are recommended to remove their glasses during the Kendo session. Glasses may be worn but pose a safety risk to the participant.

Safety & behavior

Participants must follow the safety instruction at all times.

Swinging the Shinai (bamboo sword) recklessly, play around, or strike with excessive force are not allowed. Participants must exercise extra caution when practicing with women, children, or partners of different physical sizes.

The dojo is a sacred space. Unnecessary noise and touching items without permission are prohibited.

Health warnings

Participants who are pregnant, or with high blood pressure, epilepsy, or other underlying medical conditions should not join this activity.

Participants under the influence of alcohol may be refused entry.

Participants must stay hydrated, take adequate rest, and avoid overexertion.

Luggage & belonging policy

Keep all personal belongings securely stored within the dojo.

The operator is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Responsibility & liability

The operator is not responsible for accidents caused by negligence.

Participants are responsible for their own belongings.

No attendance

No-shows are non-refundable.

Force majeure

The operator is not liable for cancellations or delays due to external factors such as weather, natural disasters, or strikes.
