Budi Gunadi Sadikin, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, expressed his appreciation for the establishment of the Traveloka COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Center jointly hosted by Traveloka, the Tangerang City Health Office, and USAID. “Vaccination contributes greatly in preventing heavy symptoms and mortality risk due to COVID-19 infections. The booster or third dose gives protection of up to 91% against death. For this reason, I appreciate Traveloka, Tangerang City Health Office and USAID for proactively hosting this vaccination center.”

Benyamin Davnie, Mayor of South Tangerang, said, “We welcome Traveloka COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Center in the South Tangerang area. Since the beginning of this year, we have seen a high increase in positive COVID-19 cases. For South Tangerang, this means approximately 23 thousand cases. For that, I encourage all South Tangerang residents and those in the surrounding areas to immediately get their booster shots because it is very important for all of us to get optimal protection and maintain immunity.”

The U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Sung Y. Kim, mentioned,“The United States is proud to be partnering with Traveloka and Tangerang City on this vaccination drive, and to be supporting vaccination sites and outreach throughout Indonesia. Through USAID, we have supported over 9,000 vaccination events, delivered over 31.5 million doses of life-saving U.S.-manufactured COVID-19 vaccines in Indonesia to date, and improved access to vaccinations and accurate COVID-19 information for 180 million Indonesians. We are committed to building on more than $1 billion in health-related assistance to Indonesia over the last two decades, and continuing to support Indonesia’s vaccination effort and safe reopening of its economy.”

“It is an honor for Traveloka to be able to conduct another vaccination center in the South Tangerang area. This is a continuation of the first and second doses that were held last year, which received an overwhelming response with more than 10,000 total vaccine recipients. The collaboration between Traveloka, the South Tangerang City Health Office, USAID, and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia through Traveloka COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Center is part of our commitment to support the government's efforts to establish herd immunity to weather the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, which will ultimately accelerate national economic recovery,” said Albert, Co-Founder Traveloka.
