A good price and location. Great kitchenette. View was as shown in the photos (none). A/c is noisy but I didn’t need to use it. Hand basin is really too small.

Our room was great and close to the city and the Melbourne Market. It was easy for us to park at Wilson Carpark only 2 doors away. We requested to get an early check in and that was easy too. Our host Ollie was there to meet us and explain the process with keys and how to get in after hours. Very happy with our choice.

The heater was working well. The appliances provided were a toaster, kettle, microwave, and they also had a dish washer. One small note was that only one thin tea towel was provided which made it hard to wash dishes as it would get wet very quickly. That being my only note shows that this is an amazing place to stay, I would recommend it highly.

Great location.
Easy to get to trams and Woolworths shop on corner.
Bed very uncomfortable.. old and could feel springs.. 4 nights was enough..

Good location.
Surprised how much smaller it was than we anticipated. Had paid more for 'Grand Studio' but was very small and pokey. No room for suitcases etc.
Didn't realise it was not a hotel with normal check-in routine until later in the booking and probably wouldn't do this again. Having to organise an exact time to check in, waiting out on the street before check in and and no-where to store luggage is not ideal.

Annoying this is advertised on a website called HOTELS.com, as this is not a hotel at all. Annoying process for afterhours checkin. The shower was dirty and only body wash provided. Tiny water basin. Annoying noises like a running hose at 7am, woke me up both mornings.

What an amazing and cheap way to stay in the heart of the CBD. A full apartment with a beautiful overview of the Queen Victoria Market. It was clean and the check in process was so much easier than I expected. 10/10 will be booking again.

On check in the staff told us to text them with any issue, the washing machine door handle just comes off in your hand and thus unable to oen the door or do any washing. We text the staff twice in the provided number with no answer at all from the. Had to find a laundry mat to do washing for an event we had to attend. Very poor customer service.

CHECK REVIEWS ON ALL PLATFORMS. See photos for more info. “Premium Apartment”, stayed 5 nights. It’s not stated on advertisement that this is not a serviced apartment. Found out after booking and paying that it’s privately owned rental unit.
The check in process was abnormal - bunch of people all waiting outside the apartment lobby to check in, a lady gathers everyone like school camp before ushering us in the lift and dropping us at our apartment. It did not feel safe that other guests knew which room we were located in, let alone the lady never even introduced herself, provided name or business card etc and just invited herself into your room to take a bond. If you’re a solo traveller I do not recommend.
Other reviews from March 2026 on google and (which is now deleted and the business name has changed from City Stays to 88 Rentals) show the exact room I got and it doesn’t seem they’d taken that feedback or rectified anything listed in that review! e.g broken and dirty stove, broken window sill handles, nasty stain on couch etc. I couldn’t be bothered dealing with the stress of complaining and potentially moving rooms while I was on a holiday, especially after seeing the lack of care and argumentative responses from the operator in other peoples previous reviews.
The only thing good about this place is the location. The room lacks major attention to detail.

You don’t have to go far for necessities and everything is in walking distance,,once I had a contact phone number everything went smoothly for the check in ,, I did find a face cloth with stains on it, which I hope was only makeup, and the mattress was a bit tired,, but looking past that I will definitely stay there again..made my stay in Melbourne very pleasant..Thank you
