The Dormie House - On The Golf Course

I paid $1100 for a renovated room and thought it would be pretty decent for that price … instead I got a renovated room but very small and claustrophobic windows had locks on it that couldn’t be opened like they were painted shut and was told in listing it had 50 inch tv but it was only a little 28 inch tv in the corner on a mount all awkward to watch from bed or any angle and no toaster and microwave in room only mini fridge and kettle .. I thought for $1100 you would at least get those things cause you can get cheaper rooms at different places that have all those things plus more ! Very misleading listing and the shower wouldn’t stay hot when using and turn cold so I told reception and their excuse was it’s an old building and everyone showers at same time … whaaaat lol … does everyone shower at 5:00am I don’t think so… the only good thing about this room was heated tiles in bathroom that’s literally it ! And they didn’t even have a common room with microwave for all guests !! So I had to go downstairs to kitchen where they cook in restaurant and asked them to reheat my food otherwise I couldn’t eat what I had in fridge … and no elevator even a small one so I had to life my luggage bags up the stairs … what a pain

Stayed for one night. I was kindly upgraded by the polite helpful front desk staff. He even went ahead and turned the heater on so the room would be warm after I had my dinner. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything I needed was included. Very quiet Comfortable bed . Will be back

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic property. Staff were particularly friendly and obliging. We stayed in an updated room which was very comfortable.

Great one night stay. Underfloor heating was brilliant. Staff brilliant.

Beautiful old hotel with an old world charm about it. Very quiet through the night so a good nights sleep is assured.

Lovely location. Ground floor Queen room extremely small - no room for luggage as the bed took up almost the whole room. Bathroom only suitable for one person at a time. Overlooked the buggy garage so had to keep the blind closed. Would definitely request and pay for a larger room if we ever stayed again. Staff were friendly though and the terrace for meals overlooking the golf course was beautiful.

Our room was very comfortable & spotlessly clean with a beautiful view over the golf course. Our dinner was delicious, the wine list was great and best of all, the staff were so friendly.

The staff were all so genuinely lovely and helpful. Room was large, clean and modern. Had breakfast in the restaurant and it was fantastic. Best place I’ve stayed in quite a while. Highly recommend

Clean, comfortable, spacious, very quiet. Lovely staff made sure we had an air-conditioned room due to the heat. Stunning view of the golf course. Nice to see attention to detail like real soap and shortbreads. Would highly recommend to others, especially golfing friends.

Excellent little hotel with much history, friendly staff and clean rooms! Parking was very easy and golf course was also pretty nice.

Shame we had not been to Dormie House for a while very disappointing. Dinning poor staff service not great room good view but needed a place to hang your clothes and bathroom needed an upgrade So sorry but won’t be back

Rooms are very clean. The staff are excellent. Our room was extremely small but had we known, we could have booked a larger one.

Not like staying at a hotel, more like staying at a superior pensione. The room and bathroom were spotless and fresh-smelling. (I hate that artificial hotel smell.) Being able to Open windows was a bonus. Quiet despite carpark. Having the restaurant/café was so convenient. Sitting out the back on the outside patio area with a view over the golf course and its many trees was delightful. Staff professional and pleasant. Shall definitely return.
