Hotel Midi - Zuid

Mid-advertised. No air/con. Unattractive and worrying location. Expedia should be ashamed for promoting this place.

Very good choice

This hotel is not in a clean location, there was garbage thrown around on the street and terrible garbage smell in the room. Terribley noicy all through the night, no airconditioning or fan, electricity went out and temps was over 100 degrees during the hearwave so we had to keep the windows open through the night. All night we heard ambulance and traffic, people talking, awful. Unfortunately I don't have anything good to say about this place. Completely overpriced for the level of comfort and cleanliness. After calling the front desk, the attendant did give us a fan, but we had to go down to pick it up, no one to bring it upstairs to our room. There is only a single attendant staff for the front desk, so he is not allowed to leave his station! Yes, the hotel is close to the reailway station, however, not at all in a clean environment.

It was o.k. but room was a bit cold (someone did come to adjust the heating), small & had no view ! Mind you I booked an economy room....Area around hotel was not great due to a huge road construction project going on...

The hotel is good value for money, just be aware of the surroundings in the night as the neighborhood is a little rough. For getting in and out of the city center by cab this is an okay place.

This hotel was close to the train station. Lots of construction on the street - so a little hard to get to the hotel.

Short stay. Hotel fine for overnight stay

Unfortunately, we arrived during an enormous renovation of the public streets right in front of the hotel, therefore, our stay was less than satisfactory. We were also in an unsavory part of town where we did not feel safe walking around after dark. The AC did not turn on nor half of the lights in the room. The only way to get a little fresh air was to open the balcony door but then there was intense cigarette smoke all throughout the night. The only thing we liked about this hotel was the clean bathroom, clean beds, and walking distance to main train station. I wish for this place to do well as I do for all businesses post-Covid so I hope when I come back things will be different.

Nice and clean

View from room was great. Proximity to train also great. Watch for pick pockets. Saw two happen, one across the street as we were coming, the other just beyond R20 while walking on Maurice Lemonnier.

Bar the bugs was a good hotel.
