Alux House

Great stay! Perfect location, experience and staff! My room was connected - with locked door between - the room next door, and you could hear everything going on next door.

The location is amazing, tucked away between to main sidewalk and the street. Quiet and convenient. The property photos and descriptions are accurate. We didn't visit the pool but we saw there was one. Great place to stay if you just want to be in the center of the village.

This is a very nice small boutique hotel near the beach. The only compliant I had was about communication with their staff. I had spoken twice with their staff to request help with scheduling a taxi to the airport and was told it was confirmed. However on the day of my departure there was none scheduled. The staff on duty didn't know anything about it. I had to wait for a taxi to be called and this could have caused me to miss my flight.

Can't say enough good things about Alux! My friend and I visited Placencia for our Birthdays and were originally booked at other accomadations. We left the other place after one night and found Alux. What a gem! It is in the heart of the village. Everything is walkable, with lots of options for food, shopping and fun. The room as lovely, clean, cool and spacious. It was so well appointed too! Coffee and filters, small appliances, spacous modern kitchen, thick bath towels, toiletries and so forth. We are planning a return trip for 2026!

The listing for this property was incorrect. What we thought we were getting was 3 queen beds with 2 bathrooms. Instead, we got 2 adjoining units that had 1 queen bed each, a pull-out sofa, & 3 bathrooms. Each unit had its own kitchen. When we arrived, the door between our rooms was locked so we had to go out to the porch & into the other unit to be with our friends. This wouldn't have been an issue, except when we left our room, the door locked & the automatic keypad stopped working (the battery died), so we could not get back into our room for 2 hours. The property manager wasn't going to back until later that evening, so finally she sent someone to unlock our door. My other issue was that there was only 1 mini split (air conditioning unit) in each unit in the bedrooms. We could not close the bedroom doors because the rest of the apartment would get so hot! Plus, the person who was stuck sleeping on the pull-out couch in the living room would have been sweating. A minor detail is the plunge pool was cloudy & dirty looking, so we opted not to use it. The windows were metal shutters with no glass, which I found odd. Other than that, the hotel is located in a convenient area to walk to however, the parking is really for a golf cart only. (They let us park our SUV in the small driveway, but it was a huge project to get it there!) The staff was polite & did their best to assist us with the issues we encountered. The rooms were clean & well stocked. I really liked the decor.

The place had everything that you may need. It was beautiful definitely recommend. Only draw back was signage, we were unable to find the property from the main road or the middle walkway.

It was hard to find and there is no parking as cars can’t get there. The property itself was very good but there were some fishy characters hanging around it with one guy smoking weed right by it.

Small but adequate property just off of the famous Placencia sidewalk. Dark at night so I’m not sure it would be appropriate for some folks traveling alone.

This property has a very accommodating team, great owners, great property management!!! Everything I needed was at my finger tips! If you are looking for a very laid back hotel this is a great choice! Air conditioning works great and also a very comfy bed!

Amazing location. Very clean, quiet, and great location to everything. Host was very accommodating and responded quickly to our inquiries. Sid, the groundskeeper, was very friendly and made us feel right at home. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
