Our daughter left her $500 head phones in the room and they called us right after check out to come get them. This alone, for me, earns them a 5 star rating. Vishu, and the young Asian guy at the front counter were among the kindest people we met in Vancouver. And the hotel location is so convenient for the sky train.

Very friendly staff. Room was clean and well equipped with a fridge and desk and toiletries. Shower pressure was amazing! Only downside is the room can get quite hot as the airconditioning units seem undersized for the space.

Beds were comfortable. The room was clean . But the air quality was poor. You can’t open a window and there is no venting in the room except a very very loud old window air conditioner. Sleep was impossible.

This quaint looking old hotel was promoted as being refurbished and the pictures seemed to look like it. Our room was dirty with stains all over the carpet (I have pictures), and the cleanliness of the bed spreads was questionable, but the sheets seemed clean. We found dirty clothing stuffed between the ottoman and the desk when we moved it to put a suitcase on it. We paid for parking a block away in order to check in as there was no place to park in front or beside the hotel and after a horrible check in experience we had to haul our luggage from the parade across the street. We were afraid to walk anywhere because of the homeless shelter on the same block as the hotel with many of the patrons lying all along the sidewalk. To top things off we were stalked by an unsavoury character in his car while trying to park. After 3 attempts to park with him pulling in 2 spots away, I got out of my car and took a picture of his license plate. He then left. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

From the old flossing pick behind the sink (the groove between sink and wall hadn't been cleaned in months at least) to mold on the tub tiles, the bathroom needs a complete overhaul. The roll down shades left gaps for light from the skytrain station to shine in. A noisy a/c unit was needed to offset the heat coming from the register, but it also helped to drown out the skytrain noise. The freezer in the mini fridge was so over-frozen that the door couldn't close. It was far from any of the described and quite a disappointment. The staff working that evening did her best, but I could tell she knew it wasn't great.

The hotel is conveniently located very close to the train station, which is ideal if you don’t have a car. However, the street where the hotel is located can feel a bit rough — you’ll see people using drugs around the area. That said, they mostly keep to themselves and don’t bother anyone, and there is also a visible police presence. If you can look past the street environment, the hotel itself is a good budget-friendly option. The rooms are clean, and it's a good place to get a decent rest. I wouldn't recommend it for families with children, but it's perfectly fine for adults who aren’t too picky. The front desk agent is friendly, and there’s a commercial area with everything you might need just a 10-minute walk away.

The front desk staff were great. Super friendly and very helpful and accommodating. I also appreciate the 10% discount at the tavern next door (the food was great!). However, I left my black sweater on the black desk chair in the room by accident and even just a couple hours after checking out, it mysteriously disappeared and could not be found by the front desk staff when I called to get it sent to me. It's not an expensive sweater but I really don't like the dodgyness of that situation (I only stayed 24hours, it was the only thing I left, I only had a small backpack with me so I know for sure it's not in my bag and it was left in the hotel when I left in a hurry for an appointment just hours before I called hoping they could send it to me). It's unfortunate the final experience at this hotel as I really appreciated the front desk staff. The mysterious disappearance of my sweater has influenced my rating.

Overall the staff is great, but the hotel is in need of serious upgrades. The rooms are cozy, but the window AC units prevents you from closing the shades completely if you want to feel any of the cool air. They still utilize actual physical keys instead of a key card, and do not give you a key chain of any sorts, I was scared of losing the key and always constantly checking my pockets to make sure it was still there. The hotel is very conveniently located next to the skytrain station, but the area is rattled with homeless and sketchy people, as a tourist with a camera, I made sure to make my way as fast as possible into the hotel lobby. The bed felt like sleeping on a slab on concrete, and the mattress did not sit flush with the headboard, leaving a gap that the pillows kept falling into. The inconvenient part of being next to the skytrain station, you hear every single train coming and going from the station, the windows are single pane and you hear every single little noise outside. The limited dining options around the hotel are an issue, though 1 ride stop to a mall close by. Their shared property with the met bar, the food options are mediocre and the taste was not to my liking, the only reason I went was the discount they offered to hotel patrons. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, and will consider other options on my next visit to Vancouver.
