Great location in one of the tallest towers in the Shanghai Finance district and only a short walk to the nearest station (and one stop on the train to The Bund). Very impressive interior and an excellent breakfast. The only negative would be the price of some of the drinks in the various bars including a pot of tea for 468RMB.

Booked a river view king and got upgraded to the diplomat by the wonderful check-in staff. The room was absolutely incredible, from the views to the bed linen/pillow quality, to the soft, fluffy white robes, to the Guerlain toiletries and Dyson hair dryer; everything was superb. I booked this reservation as a part of my master's degree grad celebration and felt very well cared for. I wish the hotel offered a paid airport pick-up service, as I found the language barrier made it quite hard to get to the hotel, and I did get scammed by a local taxi driver, unfortunately. The main complaint I do have, however, is regarding the in-room dining. I tried to order a Chinese chicken dish and was told they were out; so i tried to order a different chicken dish and was told they were out of chicken entirely, which was a decent portion of the menu given I arrived later in the evening. The options, therefore, were very limited, and I ended up ordering shrimp dim sum and Shanghai-style noodles. The dumplings were delicious, but the noodles tasted dry, and like they were left under a heat lamp to marinate in extremely salty soy sauce, so I didn't end up eating much of them. I would stay again, but would hope to have the hotel assist in arranging airport transfers and offer more in-room dining options.

You wont be disappointed staying here.
The view is breathtaking. Rooms are spacious and very well organized with a good size bath and shower. Couple of english speaking channels on TV including CNN.
Rooms are serviced in a timely manner each day and staff very friendly.
Buffet breakfasr caters for western and Asian style foods and is very extensive.
Suggest going to Cloud 9 (bar and restaurant) it's a bit hidden but well worth the exploration to find it upwards if level 80!

Check in was really slow. Many people waiting and nowhere to sit - a recurring problem at this hotel.
Aircon in room was not working and despite asking for it to be fixed, it never was.
Service at breakfast was really poor. Queuing and delays everywhere. No cups. No glasses. No plates. Empty food places. No breakfast tea.
A tired, run down hotel which hasn’t got the space to serve its guests properly.
