Friendly staff, English speaking. Check-in is smooth and got a free room upgrade to a higher floor. Complimentary mini-bar from the reception. Breakfast variety is top-notch; they have lots of Chinese porridge selections, noodles, and Western options are all available. Separate bathroom and toilet area. The bathroom area has a shower and bathtub. The hotel provided Balmain amenities. The bed is comfortable, and the room is in a minimalist style. The location is within walking distance to the West Bund area.

Easy to walk to Bund. Great views of Bund at night. Can walk to Bund/ Nanging Rd in 10-5 min. If you want a Pearl view ask them for this in the other wing. We enjoyed the Club dining morning and evening drinks. Very personal. More quiet than the very busy large buffet.

The hotel would earn a 4 to 5 star rating........BUT we did give a much lower one as there was a huge construction jobsite next to the hotel on our side (new high rise building). We would not have cared if the construction crew would have worked (VERY LOUDLY) just from 7 am to 10 or even 11 p.m. but NO, they work 24/365, Sundays as well....can you imagine the 3 am peep, peep, cloing, bom etc noises? There is now way the employees at the check-in would not have known about this. Surely I assume we may have been able to request and get another room. but we obviously did not find out after the first night, the next day was weekend which we thought they would not work, at least not through the night. Also we had everything set up in the hotel room all clothes in the cupboard, communication set-up etc. NOT GOOD

Hotel in a great location and views from room were tremendous - had a small issue whereby we had a power cut (isolated to the room we were in) whereby the team at the hotel fixed as soon as we reported this then had on the following day the fridge break down (assume it was linked to the room tripping out) which again the team fixed after we reported this - great hotel , team were excellent (I suppose the fact the power tripped was not in the hotel control however it happened and did affect one of our days due to none of our equipment charging overnight for the day we had planned. Just to confirm though we would definitely stay at this hotel again if and when we revisit Shanghai

Loved our stay! The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was clean and well serviced. View of the pearl river and bund from our room was magical, watching the city lights come alive every night. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk to main pedestrian street shopping but we enjoyed walking

Expected 5 Star Hyatt with upgraded pearl Tower view room to have a Microwave and a coffee maker but there was none - very surpised such basic ammenities are in every 3 star motel in canada. The safety box was at the the lowest possible cabinet in washroom, you would have to sit on the floor of washroom to access that. View was excellent as expected and staff was fine, but a hotel of this stature should have basic ammenities. I don't think will be staying here again.

We book the bund view and requested for a high floor. staff says the check in would be after 3. Came back at 5 however was told to wait after 6. Manager was not very apologetic until we told him that we have a 3 yr old kid. Thou we got the high floor room in the end but the experience was ruined. The room was normal given the price. Not really spacious compared to our previous hotel. Will not book again.

This property is not really centrally located. We need to walk about 15 minutes 20 minutes to a market. Luckily, the streets, although very dark but safe in Shanghai. Taxi is cheap in Shanghai.

Overall, we did not have any specific negative feedback about the hotel itself. However we were disappointed with the pre-authorisation hold that was actually charged after we checked out despite us having pre-paid for the hotel. It's been close to a month and we still have not received the refunded amount. At check-in, we were informed that the RMB 2,000 deposit (USD300) was a temporary pre-authorization hold (not charge) for incidentals that would be released upon checkout. However, despite having prepaid for our rooms in full, this amount was actually charged to our card the day after we had already checked out. Furthermore, our check-in process took over an hour because the hotel was unable to retrieve our full reservation; staff could only locate two rooms despite our booking for three. This caused significant anxiety for my family and led to a substantial delay for a tour we had booked. This experience has been very frustrating and below the standards expected of a 5-star hotel!

We boles this property to relax in the steam, sauna and jacuzzi after long days off sightseeing. We were disappointes when we went to use them and all 3 were out of order. Room was clean and tidy. Hotel felt more clinical than other hiteks we stayed in, the staff felt kore corporate and not friendly
