I was able to check in an hour early and friendly staff carried my bag down multiple flights of stairs to the bottom floor as there is no lift. The room was very run down and worn but felt safe for very short stay. Unfortunately, when I returned from my evening out I found the room was overrun with about 20 plus ants coming out of the shower drain and the floor boards. I was disgusted and let the staff at the front desk know. He came to check the room and moved me to the only other room he had available as it was close to midnight. The second room was on the ground floor but was another disappointment. The room was even more rundown but I stayed because I was getting an early train anyway. The bedding was dirty and had stains. I ended up sleeping in the cleaner of the two single beds. The shower was tiny and the door kept falling off it's runners. I had to lift it back in place to get out. I didn't see any more insects but felt uncomfortable with my stay and struggled to sleep due to how dirty the room was. I also ended up spraying down my bag with bug spray when I left as I didn't want to bring any friends with me. The window also didn't close and it was noisy all night. I would not stay here again but the staff did seem to be doing their best to be friendly and helpful. The area is safe with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. I was in a hurry in the morning or I would have asked for a full refund.

So the Argle square area is perfect for travel and accessing London 7 min walk to the train and underground at Kingscross but away from the main rds and in a leafy green street with a park , however be prepared for the shish pipe smoking drug takers happily relaxing in said park but they kept themselves to themselves, did have 1 concern even though on 1st floor bedroom window could easily be accessed and didn't close and lock properly room 107, just a chain across for security , felt a little unsecure. Rooms are small but everything you could need for an overnight stay for a low price for central london , ask for hairdryer at reception if needed not in room but available. Unsure if an Iron available on same terms as didn't need one all in all good stay for a good price and luggage stored free pre and post check in/ out was a bonus too 😀

Does need a deep clean in room and shared corridors. Bathroom was good though even though small . Did smell damp in areas and maintenance was poor . Needs better safety rail on stairs. Bed was comfy and did sleep well. It was a base for sleep and out quick for morning . Good location .

The hotel is perfectly located for Kingscross and eurostar.. Literally across the road. Staff on the helpdesk friendly and helpful at check-in and leaving. Room small but adequate for a short stay. Room very warm but after turning radiator off was perfect. Bed was comfy and clean bedding. Bathroom small but ok again for a short stay. Shower was powerful and good. TV ok, tea and coffee provided. Kettle spotless. The hotel is ok for a short stay. Decent price for location. It needs updating and is shabby in places, but you get what you pay for. I'd stay again. We visited for a theatrevshow, a concert, art gallery and shopping, so we only used the room at night.

We were only staying one night, we had a room on lower ground floor, Lots of stairs,be warned , No sooner were we in our room the smell of sewage,I told the manager, they kindly moved us to another room 3 floor, which was ok clean , had nice towels but 4 tall flight of stairs, For that reason I don't feel I would go back there and it's dose not feel the safest area ,when walking around, but very close to the train station Positive The staff were very polite & helpful under the circumstances, even helped us up with our bags to the third floor. We did leave at 10 to 5 in the morning, was difficult comming back down stairs
