We had an ok stay at The Bedford Swan. The room was dated and the wardrobe sliding doors jammed on their first use. The toilet roll holder also fell off. The hotel receptionist was a little curt when we checked in. Breakfast was average, we went down at 10.15 when it finished at 10.30 and seemed to be a lot of stress about all the buffet being cleared away by 10.30.

I gave a low rating due to poor service. I requested room service at 2am, as the in-room menu clearly stated it was available until 7am, but I was told it was not an option. I went down to reception to ask why, and was informed the staff member on duty was alone and therefore unable to provide food. We ended up having to drive to McDonald’s.
To make matters worse, I tried calling both reception and room service again at 8am to request a jug of water, but received no response from either. Very disappointing overall.

Lovely location right by the river. Hotel is spotless and staff were all very helpful although it was understaffed for demand at the bar with long queues because of the glorious weather. Rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. Would recommend this hotel.

Really lovely decor, restaurant was lovely and the food was really reasonable and tasty. The staff are really lovely and attentive and I thought very professional. The only negative was that the carpark was really busy and we had expected to be able to park at the hotel but there is plenty of parking a short walk away. The spa was really nice too. Overall really lovely!

Lovely hotel by river walks and close to Bedford market. Excellent evening meal with plenty of servers. Didnt try spa.
Forgot comb or brush and disappointed that hotel stocked no emergency supplies such as Toothbrush or comb for ocasional disorganised customers. The hotel over the river sorted me out as shops in walking distance were closed.

A lovely hotel very swish ! Rooms adequate . No mirror for make up ! Bathroom is wonderful.
Breakfast was not the best, Sunday until 10.30 we went at 9.45 and the choose was cold scrambled egg ! And the other items were not tasty been out too long .

The king size room i payed extra for was just 2 single beds pushed together not ideal for a couple! There was also water pouring on something outside our window making a loud echoing noise all night with the rain. Apart from that tge hotel its self is very nice

Lovely, clean room however, no bath! Bed is huge, comfortable and fresh. Bathroom is spotless.
The only negative was the noise, both internal and external. People slamming doors at stupid o’clock and outside revellers.
I know some people said parking was an issue but not for me.

The rooms need updating. We had many maintenance issues which were not resolved, although the staff was very friendly and supportive. Example: shower too hot and cannot be mixed to cool. Taps lose. TV not working properly. Internet weak. Cupboard door stuck.
