What Guests Say About Their Stay

Dan

Overall a good stay with no major issues at all. My feedback and shares are honest and reflective of the stay. We had a warm welcome and speedy check in and given directions to our room. We were travelling with our dog and asked if we needed a bed and bowl. These were quickly delivered to the room. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and two pillow types on the bed - firm and soft. The grounds were exceptionally well maintained. The car parking was easy and four good EV chargers. The bar was good with a great selection of drinks. The staff were effective and provide a good service. It seemed as if the cider line had not been fully cleaned as the two pints I had carried an after taste of lager? We were offered the chance to order room service from the bar menu. This was delivered quickly and was a really good quality. At breakfast we were given some cutlery so we could dine in the library, as dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. This was perfect and allowed our reactive dog, space and quite away from everything, allowing us to enjoy a great quality breakfast. There was no share on facilities or breakfast timings at check in.

Excellent stay, quiet room and good food. I suggest staying in the main building, as the annexe is far from everything, and the path between the annexe and the main building can get slippery on rainy days (and it rains a lot in England). The wine list and beer selection need improvement.

On arrival, the hotel is nothing short of spectacular. We booked it for the scenery and the amenities and they didn’t disappoint. The room, however, was disappointing. There are 3 separate buildings you could be put in, not just the main cover photo building. There seems to be a building designed with business stays in mind which I am sure is practical for that purpose. However, as we were there for a leisure stay, I was quite disappointed to be put in that building as it was lacking personality and had a very prison-like layout (if you have been in one then you will understand what I mean). I have attached a picture for reference. There was no air con in the room and no fridge either which I was surprised at, and the window overlooked a roof that staff were working on so it compromised any sort of privacy. It was a very bittersweet stay but I suppose you get what you pay for as the prices were good.

Beautiful surrounding. Hotel property is ok. On the first day at the reception I was given a room that takes about 6 minutes to walk,I went with 2 suitcases up a steep hill till the hotel area.the weather was really really hot.was not offered for someone to give me a hand! Then 1 flight up no lift.came there was exhausted as hell.no a/c in the rooms only small fan.did not sleep well 3 nights.in the morning 7.50 a.m working was going on on the roof really loud noise..so could not enjoy some peacefull sleep in the morning. All of this , ,I would not come back to this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and well-appointed with great amenities. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were consistently helpful and attentive. The only drawback was the lack of air conditioning, which made the room quite warm; I would recommend checking if a room with air conditioning is available when booking. Additionally, while the shower pressure was usable, it could certainly be improved. Despite these minor issues, I would happily stay here again, particularly during cooler weather seasons

1) Better communicat communication as to the restaurant, it was closed on the first night and didn't serve the full menu presented online. 2) The superior room is small and the new build accommodation is more like student housing. 3) Lack of staff and service during meal times, waited nearly 40 mins between courses and wasn't offered any drinks.

A lot of younger staff lacking professionalism. A few friendly faces but some quite rude staff who clearly hate their jobs. Breakfast is advertised until 10am but we arrived at 9:40am after a late night working and was told it finished at 9:30am. Was very disappointed. Staff gave us a plate of random leftovers which we appreciated but was not what we were hoping for. The hotel is ok but not worth the money we paid
