Basic room. I was in a room for people with access needs so there were multiple cords to pull if there was an emergency- was paranoid I'd catch one accidentally due to their locations. Make sure you get a room with a window

Doors are very loud when closing, so good luck if you have neighbours and they're coming in late when you have to be up early. Doors are also not very good at insulating noise, so commotion in the hallways is clearly heard. Location is convenient for getting to New Street Station, but lots of people always asking for money in area.

There was no desk or table in the room, though there was space -- not even a luggage rack (I asked), and no refrigerator or kettle. There's a coffee machine in the lobby, and it's £2.50.

Clean, modern, no frills but what you need. Great location. The downside? Although they state they are sound proofed rooms for city location they are not. The noise from the restaurant below could be heard in the room and I was awoken at 3.30am by a delivery van reversing and unloading outside my window.
