Breakfast selection was great!

Our room was excellent - king-sized comfortable bed, view of Clifford’s Tower, etc. Breakfast buffet was good; albeit not as good as ‘home-cooked’. Location was great.

Great hotel in a fantastic location & a very reasonable price

We have visited York on numerous occasions over the years and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in. The central location meant that it was only a short walk to the main attractions. The staff were helpful and courteous with check in and out being swift and easy. The choice and quality of food at breakfast was excellent. The rooms were modern, fresh and clean with all the amenities you would expect. The bathroom was light and airy with a powerful shower which was easy to use. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel .

Friendly staff all through the hotel and clean spacious room and comfy beds. Excellent location 5mins from the shambles and Jorvik experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a central location hotel.

Breakfast was adequate, one member of staff not very helpful on reception. One lift not working until last day of our stay. Not good light in room to do make up. No windows to open to air room Bed very conformable and room was quiet as requested.

They are very good. The breakfast was excellent.

Nice and central for sight seeing. Hotel nice and clean. The queen size bed was 5ft so better than expected. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Staff friendly and efficient. Can't complain.

Bathroom not as clean as our first visit there . Breakfast was good, great location to city center.

We had a beautiful room - much larger than we were expecting, and beautifully designed. The breakfast was food too.

Our stay was very comfortable at the Hampton by Hilton. The room was a good size and always clean. The staff were very helpful and we couldn’t fault the breakfast , fresh and tasty . A great stay in York that was really central to the city.

Perfect location to explore York on foot and nice breakfast with a good selection. The waffle maker was great. Large comfortable seating area by reception with a bar. Iced tap water available there too which was appreciated. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Didn’t really see any staff at breakfast for the first couple of days but we worked everything out! Everything was clean except a rug in our bedroom that looked dirty. The beds were ok but the duvet cover and duvets were different sizes so it wasn’t very comfortable. I asked at reception but they said it was the same everywhere and nothing was changed. Peel road car park is the closest car park and is a few minutes walk away. The hotel offers discounts at different car parks but you have to ask, we didn’t get told anything beforehand. You don’t get a discount at peel but when we stayed the price was still cheaper than the other car parks. Reception helped us with all of this when we arrived and it all went smoothly.

Good clean hotel, close to centre of town

Room was good; clean and of good size. We had an adjoining room door in ours and had someone trying to get through one afternoon. Am guessing they thought it was an extra part to their room. Maybe some signs on the adjoining doors would be appropriate. Breakfast was okay but only scrambled eggs, no fried or poached, or mushrooms. Maybe I'm just being picky on that one. Overall the stay was good, bed was comfy, bathroom facilities were really good with everything provided bar a toothbrush and toothpaste. The member of staff we dealt with on arrival was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel is conveniently placed with centre of York not far away and The Barbican close by too.

Clean room,Helpful staff,Good selection foods.Would of liked fried eggs or boiled.But still very good.The only thing that slightly off putting a smell coming from sink in shower room.

We stayed at the hotel x 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay ++. We arranged for our car parking separately using an online app and it was a 1 minute walk from the hotel. Buffet breakfast was included, pretty much self serviced and it was not bad at all - not sure how they police the service as nobody asked you for your room number! Well, Some guests were in their pjs so they must be staying at the hotel 🤔. We were not expecting additional room service but we got a change of clean towels on D2, room vacuumed so that was nice. Yes, the hotel is next to a construction site with cranes and whatnot but they haven't started the work yet, so, it was quiet. The room is spacious and the single beds are decent twin size beds. Standard kettle and mugs. Smeg fridge. 55inch Samsung TV - decent size and logically placed on the wall - and yes, we use Samsung devices so, no problem using Smartview for TV programmes of our choices. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay for us.
